The posting
Would you like to be part of a school community where every student is encouraged to succeed and reach their full potential?
At Blaise High School, we are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our team.
This is a varied and rewarding role supporting students across the school. You will work closely with teachers and pastoral teams to help remove barriers to learning, promote positive engagement and support students to make progress academically, socially and emotionally.
The Role
As a Teaching Assistant, you will support learning across a range of subjects and year groups. You will work with individual students and small groups, help to create a focused learning environment, and contribute to the wider pastoral and inclusion work of the school.
We Are Looking For Someone Who:
- Provide, as directed, in class support for identified individuals or groups of students
- In class support may be in a variety of subject lessons or in small group intervention classes, however if you have expertise in a particular subject area we will always try to have you support there.
- Work with the teacher to ensure effective lesson preparation and delivery of the curriculum.
- Pre-teach resources where appropriate.
- Develop adaptive practice that ensures learners can access and succeed in the work set
- Ensure that students being supported are independent and organised in their work
- Assess and evaluate the underlying causes and issues of concern in lessons, address these including making referrals to others for additional support, and delivering interventions
- Mentor and develop positive relationships with these students so support given can have the highest impact.
- Excellent communication with children and parents and carers.
