Role Overview

Blitznow is looking for a highly analytical and data-driven Finance Analyst to strengthen the Finance team's reporting and data management capabilities. The role will primarily focus on handling large volumes of business and financial data, extracting data from internal systems, cleaning and transforming raw datasets, and developing reliable MIS reports and dashboards.

The candidate will work extensively with Metabase, Zoho, advanced Excel, Google Sheets, and other data extraction and reporting tools to build standardised, reusable reports that enable the Finance and business teams to access the information they need independently.

This role requires strong hands-on data management skills, attention to detail, and the ability to convert complex, unstructured data into accurate, actionable reports. The ideal candidate should be comfortable working with large datasets, automating repetitive reporting activities, and building scalable reporting processes in a fast-paced environment.

Roles & Responsibilities

1. Data Extraction & Management

  • Extract large volumes of data from Metabase, Zoho, and other internal business systems for financial reporting, reconciliation, and analysis.
  • Work with raw, unstructured, and fragmented datasets and perform data cleansing, formatting, mapping, merging, and transformation.
  • Identify data gaps, inconsistencies, duplicates, and mismatches, and ensure data accuracy and completeness before reporting.
  • Combine data from multiple sources to create consolidated datasets for Finance and business analysis.
  • Handle recurring and ad hoc data requests from the Finance team and other stakeholders within defined timelines.

2. Metabase Reporting & Self-Service Data Access

  • Develop and maintain reports, saved questions, dashboards, and data extracts in Metabase.
  • Create reusable report links and configure appropriate access permissions so that authorised team members can independently access and download reports.
  • Enable self-service reporting by creating standardised report links, templates, filters, and documented extraction procedures.
  • Understand Metabase's underlying data structure, filters, query logic, and reporting capabilities.
  • Work with the relevant data or technology team to resolve access issues, optimise queries, and improve reporting availability.
  • Maintain a central repository of standard reports, report links, data definitions, and extraction instructions.

3. MIS & Financial Reporting

  • Prepare and maintain periodic MIS reports covering revenue, collections, receivables, payables, COD, expenses, profitability, and other financial and operational metrics.
  • Consolidate data from multiple sources to support monthly financial reporting and management reviews.
  • Develop standardised reporting templates with appropriate checks, reconciliations, and validation mechanisms.
  • Track key financial and operational metrics and highlight material variances, unusual trends, and data discrepancies.
  • Support the Finance team in preparing management reports, business performance reviews, and data-backed analysis.

4. Data Automation & Process Improvement

  • Automate repetitive data extraction, cleaning, consolidation, and reporting activities using advanced Excel, Google Sheets, Power Query, SQL, Python, or other relevant tools.
  • Identify manual reporting processes that can be simplified, automated, or standardised.
  • Build scalable data workflows to reduce turnaround time and dependency on ad hoc support from other teams.
  • Create standard operating procedures for recurring reports, including source identification, extraction steps, validation checks, and report-sharing mechanisms.
  • Continuously improve data quality, reporting efficiency, and the reliability of Finance MIS.

5. Data Room & Audit Support

  • Support the preparation, organisation, and maintenance of financial and operational data rooms for management reviews, investor due diligence, audits, and other business requirements.
  • Extract, consolidate, validate, and organise data requested by internal and external stakeholders.
  • Maintain structured folders, standardised file naming conventions, version control, and supporting schedules.
  • Ensure reports and supporting files are accurate, traceable to source data, and readily accessible when required.
  • Coordinate with Finance and relevant business teams to close data gaps and fulfil information requests within agreed timelines.

6. Financial Analysis & Business Support

  • Support revenue, cost, margin, collections, working capital, and profitability analysis through structured datasets and MIS reports.
  • Assist in preparing budgets, forecasts, variance analysis, and business performance reports as required.
  • Provide reliable data and analytical support to Finance leadership for business reviews and decision-making.
  • Translate business reporting requirements into clear data requests, report structures, and measurable outputs.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Commerce, Economics, Business Administration, Statistics, or a related discipline. A master's degree in Finance, Management, or Analytics is an added advantage.
  • 1–3 years of relevant experience in Finance MIS, data analytics, reporting, business intelligence, or a similar role.
  • Strong hands-on proficiency in advanced Excel and Google Sheets, including Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, SUMIFS, INDEX-MATCH, conditional formulas, data validation, and handling large datasets.
  • Practical experience with Metabase or a similar BI/reporting tool, including report creation, filters, saved queries, dashboard management, and sharing report links.
  • Working knowledge of SQL for extracting, joining, filtering, and aggregating data is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with Power Query, Google Apps Script, Python, or other reporting automation tools is an advantage.
  • Ability to work with large datasets from multiple systems and convert raw data into clean, structured, analysis-ready information.
  • Strong understanding of data reconciliation, validation, accuracy checks, and error identification.
  • Experience preparing MIS reports, management dashboards, data rooms, or investor/audit data packs.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, ownership, and the ability to deliver accurate outputs within tight timelines.

What We Are Looking For

  • A data-oriented professional who enjoys working with large volumes of raw data.
  • Someone who can independently extract, clean, transform, reconcile, and report data without constant supervision.
  • A hands-on candidate who can create reusable reports and report links, enabling other teams to access data without repeatedly depending on Finance.
  • Someone who can identify opportunities to automate manual reporting and improve turnaround times.
  • A proactive individual who takes ownership of data accuracy, report quality, and delivery timelines.
  • Someone comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving business environment with changing data and reporting requirements.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
