The posting

Blue View Builder is looking for an experienced Heavy Equipment Operator who specializes in helical pier and hollow bar pile installation to join our field team in Oceanside, CA.

In this role, you’ll operate and maintain heavy equipment on active construction sites, supporting grading, excavation, trenching, soil testing, and the installation of helical piers and hollow bar piles. You’ll work closely with our crews to prepare work areas, locate utilities, and complete earthwork safely and efficiently.

Your impact: Accurate utility locating and safe equipment operation protect our crews and keep projects moving on schedule.

What you’ll do:

  • Operate excavators, backhoes, loaders, water trucks, and other heavy equipment for excavation, grading, and utility work
  • Support helical pier and hollow bar pile installation by preparing sites and coordinating equipment movements with the crew
  • Perform grading, trenching, and other earthwork as needed
  • Locate and mark utilities before digging; follow site plans and communicate hazards or changing conditions
  • Perform routine equipment inspections, maintenance, and basic repairs; report issues promptly
  • Follow all equipment safety procedures and applicable OSHA and federal construction safety regulations
  • Occasional overnight travel required

Requirements

  • Proven heavy equipment operation experience on construction sites, including construction utility work
  • Ability to operate an excavator and backhoe; loader and water truck experience is a plus
  • Hands-on experience operating screw pile drivers and hydraulic track drills
  • Mechanical knowledge and experience maintaining construction machinery
  • Utility locating experience and solid knowledge of excavation and grading practices
  • Willingness to travel overnight occasionally
  • Commercial driving experience (CDL) preferred
  • Strong commitment to safe driving and job site safety practices
