The posting

Data is becoming one of the most important foundations for Blue Water’s future. As we continue our digital transformation through BlueCore and the implementation of SAP S/4HANA and CargoWise, we are building the capabilities needed to support future analytics, AI and smarter decision-making across the business. This is a rare opportunity to join at a stage where you can influence and shape the outcome.

As our new Data Architect, you will help shape how data flows across Blue Water. You will establish the principles, models and standards that enable data to be understood, trusted and used consistently across a global organisation. Your work will influence major business initiatives and help create the foundation for technologies and capabilities we have yet to introduce.

This is where you make a difference

You will join our Data Management team within Operational Excellence and work closely with Enterprise Architecture, IT, application teams and business stakeholders across the organisation.

One of your first priorities will be to create transparency across our data landscape. You will map key data domains, data flows, integrations and dependencies, helping us understand where we are today and what needs to evolve to support tomorrow’s business.

From there, you will play a central role in defining the target-state data architecture and building the roadmap to get there. This includes developing conceptual and logical data models, establishing architectural principles and guiding decisions around critical business data and system ownership.

You will also help shape the architecture behind our future Data Platform, ensuring we have the right foundations for metadata, lineage, data quality, security and governance. Along the way, you will review solution designs, challenge assumptions when needed and act as a trusted sparring partner for architects, project teams and business stakeholders. We value being close to key stakeholders and work in a hybrid setup, with around two to three days per week on site in Esbjerg.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Defining and maintaining Blue Water’s enterprise data architecture, standards and modelling principles
  • Supporting strategic transformation initiatives, including BlueCore, by ensuring alignment with agreed architectural principles
  • Translating business requirements and data definitions into scalable and implementable data models
  • Guiding internal teams and external partners on data-related architecture decisions

What you bring

You have experience working with data architecture, data modelling or solution design in complex enterprise environments. You understand that good architecture is not about drawing perfect diagrams. It is about creating practical solutions that balance business needs, technology realities and long-term sustainability. Essential skills:

  • Experience with data architecture, data modelling or solution design across multiple systems or business domains
  • Experience with cloud data platforms and integration architecture
  • SAP S/4HANA experience, particularly around Business Partner data
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to explain technical topics to different audiences
  • Professional proficiency in English

It is an advantage if you also have experience with:

  • Data engineering, integration or enterprise architecture
  • Master data management, metadata, lineage and data quality disciplines
  • Event-driven, API-based and batch integration patterns
  • CargoWise, logistics or transport-related operations
  • Azure, Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, Snowflake or similar technologies
  • Advanced analytics, AI or relevant certifications such as TOGAF or DAMA

Why Blue Water

You will become part of a well-established Data Management team with strong professional capabilities across governance, master data, migration and quality.

What characterises the team is not only its expertise, but also its willingness to help each other succeed. We work closely together, challenge each other’s thinking and believe that the best solutions are created through collaboration across business and IT.

As part of the wider Operational Excellence organisation, you will work alongside colleagues specialising in process improvement, training and change management. Together, we are helping Blue Water build the capabilities needed for the future.

This is a unique opportunity to help shape the future of data at Blue Water. If you are ready to make a real impact in a global organisation undergoing significant transformation, we would love to hear from you.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
