Job Description:

We are hiring a Team Lead for our Intelligence Platform team in New York. This role is ideal for an experienced senior engineer ready to take on broader team leadership responsibilities—driving technical architecture, project delivery, and stakeholder alignment while helping guide a high-performing engineering pod.

You’ll bring deep software engineering experience, strong architectural judgment, and a product-focused mindset to the team responsible for the reusable services and controls that power the Grata platform. You’ll help ensure these systems are reliable, composable, scalable, and safe for both users and agents.

This is a hands-on technical leadership role. You will help set direction and coordinate execution for a seven-person engineering pod while continuing to contribute to the codebase. The role does not include formal people-management responsibilities.

This is a hybrid position based in New York, with an expectation of three days per week in the office.

What You Will Do

  • Lead technical architecture decisions for Intelligence Platform systems, balancing scalability, reliability, maintainability, security, and delivery speed.
  • Drive project delivery across team initiatives, establishing clear milestones, ownership, timelines, and quality expectations.
  • Partner with product, design, and engineering stakeholders to translate business and product goals into pragmatic technical plans and measurable outcomes.
  • Set technical direction for a seven-person engineering pod by mentoring teammates, raising engineering standards, and helping the team execute effectively.
  • Actively contribute to the codebase while reviewing designs and implementations to ensure systems remain maintainable, extensible, secure, and production-ready.
  • Identify technical and delivery risks early, communicate tradeoffs clearly, and drive timely decisions and resolution across stakeholders.
  • Facilitate effective collaboration across the pod, helping remove blockers, clarify ownership, and maintain momentum on key initiatives.

What We Are Looking For

  • 7+ years of professional software engineering experience, with demonstrated ownership of complex systems or platform initiatives.
  • Strong technical architecture skills, including experience designing scalable systems and guiding implementation across multiple engineers.
  • A track record of leading complex projects from planning through delivery, with clear milestones, ownership, and high-quality outcomes.
  • Strong stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to align product, design, engineering, and senior stakeholders around decisions, tradeoffs, and delivery plans.
  • Experience providing technical leadership through mentorship, team coordination, execution planning, and cross-functional communication.
  • A hands-on engineering mindset and the ability to balance writing code with broader technical and team leadership responsibilities.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and facilitation skills.
  • Experience navigating competing priorities and driving alignment across senior stakeholders.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
