The following position is open to anyone residing in Winnipeg and surrounding areas with valid work authorization. POSITION SUMMARY: The Business Analyst supports business improvement and transformation by analyzing business needs, documenting requirements, and recommending solutions that deliver value and support organizational goals. Working with stakeholders, project teams, and technology partners, the Business Analyst independently supports projects through business analysis, process improvement, quality assurance, and change implementation activities. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Partners with stakeholders to understand business needs, define requirements, and support business justification for change initiatives. Applies business analysis best practices throughout the project lifecycle. Facilitates requirements elicitation, analysis, validation, and documentation. Develops and maintain business requirements, user stories, workflows, use cases, and related documentation. Supports solution design and ensure alignment with business needs and project objectives. Maintains requirements traceability and support implementation and rollout activities. Contributes to continuous improvement of business analysis standards, tools, and templates. Documents and analyzes current-state and future-state business processes. Identifies process inefficiencies, risks, and opportunities for improvement. Recommends practical process and operational improvements aligned with business objectives. Assist in the development of orientation presentations for internal and external customers. Manage Insurance Council of Manitoba (ICM) credits and reporting for Advisors Coordinates testing activities with stakeholders and project teams. Develops and maintain testing documentation, including test plans, test cases, and test results. Tracks defects, issues and risks, classifies defects by severity and priority with the business, and supports their resolution. Verifies delivered solutions meet business requirements and acceptance criteria. Supports implementation and transition activities for system and process changes. Develops training materials, process documentation, and user support resources. Participates in end-user training and change adoption activities.
SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS & DESIRABLE ATTRIBUTES
Dedicated to the principles of exceptional service, committed to responding to, anticipating, and addressing customer needs, for both internal and external customers. Minimum 2 years of proven experience as a business analyst, preferably in the insurance industry, including the effective use of relevant tools and technologies. Post-secondary degree, diploma or certificate in a related field such as Computer Science, Business Administration or Business Analysis is an asset. Strong verbal and written communicator, with the ability to clearly translate complex subject matter to technical and non-technical stakeholders, resulting in concise and clear technical documentation and business requirements. Ability to facilitate collaboration between cross-functional stakeholders to establish common understanding, build consensus, make decisions and solve problems. Experience with creating and delivering presentations to diverse groups of stakeholders. Ability to analyze business processes, ensuring a shared understanding of current state processes, and identifying opportunities for efficiency. Able to connect requirements to business objectives and organizational goals Basic understanding of requirements gathering, process mapping, and software testing concepts. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Teams; familiarity with JIRA, Confluence, Lucidchart, SAP, or similar tools is an asset. Strong team player enjoys collaboration and shares knowledge openly. Self-directed, with exceptional organizational skills and a proven record of managing and prioritizing multiple tasks within varied and dynamic timelines on an ongoing basis. Committed to life-long learning and professional development, capable of completing industry education programs entailing self-directed study and the writing of graded examinations. Foundational knowledge of business analysis concepts and practices. Coursework or progress toward an IIBA certification is an asset. Familiarity with SAP modules relevant to insurance operations is an asset. Working knowledge of Manitoba Blue Cross business areas, processes, products, solutions, and project methodology is an asset.
