The posting

Bluesky's mission is to transition the social web from platforms to protocols. We're building a federated social network where users have more power. Our team has decades of combined experience building distributed applications. As a backend dev, you'll build data infrastructure that powers Bluesky’s developer services and will be a critical part of transforming social media.

Working on our AT Protocol-oriented services, you’ll be building and maintaining systems running on dense, latest-generation, bare-metal servers running in our own racks serving hundreds of thousands of events per second.

Responsibilities: Scale our Go production services to hundreds of millions of users Build mission critical data infrastructure that powers much of the AT Protocol ecosystem Build services that scale across tens of terabytes of RAM, thousands of CPU cores, and petabytes of NVME storage

You might be a good fit if you: Have strong fundamental programming and software engineering skills Have extensive experience with Go (e.g. 3+ years) Have built scalable backend systems (1M+ ops/sec) (e.g. data services, load balancers, etc.) Have familiarity with the upper limits of operating systems, networks, and storage. Have significant experience with database systems (e.g. Postgres, MySQL, SQLite) Have some experience with with other data stores (e.g. Scylla/Cassandra, Redis, ClickHouse) Have a high bar for ownership and operation of production services. Like working on small, fast-moving teams Have read the AT Protocol docs and want to contribute

We're especially excited if you have: Previous experience working on social or Internet infrastructure at large scale

We're a fully remote team, though a significant overlap of working hours with US/Pacific is required. For full-time roles, we offer health, dental, and vision insurance.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.

The numbers game

What if my background isn't good enough?

We make the most of the background you have. The CV uses every piece of relevant proof your profile holds, and one of the 25 readers reads your whole profile and flags what the CV left out.

Do you really apply for me?

Yes, on the employer's own form, the hardest ones included. Where a question needs you, you answer it right there and AI suggests the best answer. Don't want us applying from our IP addresses? Use our Chrome extension: we apply straight from your own browser.

Is it a subscription?
