The posting

POSITION SUMMARYThe Senior Director, Partnerships is a senior, quota-carrying revenue leader responsible for sourcing, developing, and closing sponsorship and strategic partnership opportunities across BMI's portfolio of live events, industry programs, digital platforms, and creator-driven initiatives. As the leading performing rights organization championing songwriters, composers, and music publishers, BMI offers unique access to the artists and moments that shape culture — and this role is central to monetizing that access through brand partnerships. This role is accountable for building a consistent pipeline of mid- to high-value partnerships and delivering against defined revenue targets. Each Senior Director focuses on designated industry verticals (e.g., financial services and technology, automotive/consumer, beverage/spirits/Latin markets), developing deep expertise and relationships within those categories. The role plays a critical part in scaling BMI's sponsorship business through proactive business development, disciplined pipeline management, and effective deal execution. FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB Essential Functions (representative, not all-inclusive):

Develops and maintains a robust pipeline of sponsorship opportunities within assigned verticals, with clear focus on revenue generation. Sources new business through outbound outreach, industry networking, and strategic account development. Builds and manages relationships with senior brand marketers, agencies, and corporate partners. Prepares and presents customized proposals and sales materials aligned with partner objectives and BMI's assets — including live events, artist access, content platforms, and digital/social reach. Negotiates sponsorship agreements in coordination with Legal/Business Affairs and senior leadership. Achieves individual revenue targets and contributes to overall team performance. Collaborates with Marketing & Activation and Operations teams to ensure successful execution of partnerships. Maintains accurate pipeline, activity tracking, and forecasting using CRM tools. Participates in regular pipeline reviews and provides clear reporting on deal status and revenue outlook. Travel required (50%).

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS Education: Bachelor's degree required. Experience:

7–10+ years in sponsorship sales, partnerships, or media/entertainment business development, with a demonstrated track record of meeting or exceeding revenue targets. Ideal candidates have experience at an advertising agency, music agency, or Fortune 500 company in a partnership sales capacity.

Skills and Abilities:

Strong sales and business development skills with a proven ability to close partnership deals. Excellent presentation, negotiation, and communication skills. Ability to manage complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles and prioritize across multiple opportunities. Strong relationship-building skills across brands, agencies, and partners. Results-oriented, self-directed, and highly motivated. Professional presence and ability to represent BMI in external, high-profile settings.

COMPENSATION: The anticipated base salary range for this position is $135,000–$180,000 USD annually, plus eligibility for an annual commission target based on individual revenue performance. Actual base salary offered will depend on factors such as experience, qualifications, skills, and geographic location. This role may also be eligible for additional incentives, benefits, and other forms of compensation as part of BMI's total rewards package.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
