We are seeking an experienced Vice President, Metals Sales – Americas to join the Global Markets Commodities business. The role will focus on originating, structuring and executing metals transactions across precious metals, base metals and battery materials, working with corporate clients, producers, processors, consumers, traders and financial sponsors throughout the Americas.

The successful candidate will bring a strong understanding of physical metals markets together with advanced derivatives and structured-finance capabilities, enabling them to identify client needs and develop integrated solutions spanning price risk management, financing and physical commodity exposures.

Key Responsibilities

Origination & Client Coverage

  • Originate new metals business across the Americas, developing relationships with miners, refiners, processors, manufacturers, recyclers, traders and other commodity-intensive corporates.
  • Identify opportunities across precious metals, base metals and battery metals, connecting clients' physical commodity exposures with financing and risk-management solutions.
  • Develop senior-level client relationships and establish a strong pipeline of new revenue opportunities.
  • Partner with corporate banking, investment banking and other Global Markets teams to identify cross-platform opportunities.

Structuring & Solutions

  • Structure bespoke solutions around clients' commodity price, inventory, working-capital and financing requirements.
  • Develop transactions that combine physical commodities, financing and derivatives, including inventory and borrowing-base structures, prepayments, metal leases and other structured commodity solutions.
  • Translate complex client exposures into commercially viable transactions while appropriately considering credit, market, liquidity, operational and documentation requirements.

Derivatives & Risk Management

  • Demonstrate strong technical proficiency across metals derivatives, including futures, forwards, swaps and options.
  • Structure sophisticated hedging strategies using vanilla and option-based solutions, including collars and customized payoff structures.
  • Understand forward curves, volatility, optionality, basis and liquidity across relevant metals markets.
  • Work closely with trading and structuring desks to price, execute and manage transactions while delivering effective client solutions.

Execution & Internal Partnership

  • Lead transactions from initial client dialogue through structuring, internal approvals, documentation and execution.
  • Coordinate effectively across Trading, Structuring, Credit, Legal, Risk, Operations and Banking.
  • Maintain disciplined pipeline management and focus on sustainable risk-adjusted returns.
  • Ensure all activity is conducted within applicable regulatory requirements and the firm's risk appetite.

Candidate Profile

· Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Engineering, Mathematics or a related quantitative field.

· A graduate degree (MBA, Master's in Finance or Financial Engineering) or a professional designation (CFA, FRM) is an asset, but not required.

  • Significant experience in metals, commodities, Global Markets, structured finance or commodity derivatives, ideally with meaningful client-facing responsibilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to originate and monetize new client relationships and transaction opportunities.
  • Strong understanding of precious and/or base metals, with exposure to battery materials and the energy-transition value chain highly desirable.
  • Strong derivatives skill set, with the ability to understand, price and communicate futures, forwards, swaps, options and structured hedging strategies.
  • Experience structuring commodity financing or physical/financial solutions strongly preferred.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical capabilities with commercial judgment and an ability to convert technical solutions into compelling client propositions.
  • Ability to work across multiple internal stakeholders and drive complex transactions through execution.
  • Excellent communication, presentation and relationship-management skills. Expectation to be in front of clients often, with considerable travel as part of the mandate.

What Success Looks Like

The VP will be expected to build an actionable origination pipeline, deepen strategic client relationships and generate incremental metals revenue by bringing together physical-market knowledge, derivatives expertise and financing capabilities.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
