AI Junior to Intermediate Project Manager

Location: Cape Town Employment Type: 12-Month Contract

Are you an organised and driven Project Manager with experience in technology, digital transformation or Agile environments? This is an exciting opportunity to support a large-scale AI programme by coordinating initiatives, tracking delivery, supporting governance and ensuring stakeholders remain aligned across multiple AI workstreams.

The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining programme visibility and ensuring that actions, milestones, risks, dependencies and value realisation are effectively tracked and reported.

Key Responsibilities

Programme Planning & Coordination

  • Maintain integrated programme plans across multiple AI workstreams.
  • Track milestones across all AI workstreams.
  • Follow up on actions, risks and dependencies.
  • Ensure all programme activities remain aligned to the roadmap.
  • Coordinate meetings, workshops and programme events.

Governance & Reporting

  • Prepare governance packs and meeting materials.
  • Track AI Governance Board decisions.
  • Capture actions and decisions from Steering Committee meetings.
  • Produce weekly and monthly status reports.
  • Support ExCo and Board reporting preparation.

AI Use Case Tracking

  • Maintain a central inventory of AI use cases.
  • Track AI use case progress and delivery milestones.
  • Monitor business owners and delivery owners.
  • Ensure value metrics are captured and reported.

AI SDLC & PDLC Transformation Support

  • Coordinate rollout activities across squads.
  • Track adoption metrics.
  • Maintain implementation dashboards.
  • Monitor training completion and participation.
  • Support Front Runner squad execution tracking.

Stakeholder Management

  • Liaise with Technology, HR, Architecture, Security, Data and Business stakeholders.
  • Coordinate programme communications.
  • Schedule forums and governance sessions.
  • Drive action follow-ups and escalation management.

Reporting & Analytics

  • Maintain programme dashboards.
  • Produce executive-ready status summaries.
  • Track programme KPIs.
  • Support value realisation reporting.
  • Track adoption, training and capability metrics.

Communications & Change Enablement

  • Draft programme communications.
  • Support awareness campaigns.
  • Coordinate leadership briefings.
  • Maintain programme documentation and knowledge repositories.

Minimum Requirements

  • 2–5 years' experience in project or programme management.
  • Experience working in Agile or SAFe environments.
  • Exposure to technology or digital projects.
  • Strong organisational and coordination skills.
  • Excellent Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel skills.
  • Experience with reporting and dashboard development.
  • Strong meeting facilitation skills.
  • Good stakeholder management capabilities.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Basic understanding of Artificial Intelligence and digital transformation.

Advantageous Certifications

  • Certified ScrumMaster (CSM).
  • SAFe Practitioner.
  • PRINCE2 Foundation.
  • PMP Foundation level.
  • Microsoft Copilot or AI-related certifications.

  • Is highly organised, proactive and detail-oriented.
  • Can manage multiple priorities across different AI workstreams.
  • Has strong reporting, presentation and coordination skills.
  • Is confident engaging with stakeholders across Technology, Business and support functions.
  • Can effectively track actions, risks, dependencies and milestones.
  • Has an interest in AI, technology and digital transformation.
  • Can produce clear and accurate programme reporting for senior stakeholders.
  • Takes ownership and follows through on commitments.
  • Works well in a fast-paced Agile programme environment.
