Minimum Requirements:

  • Min of a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Advanced degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in demand planning, forecasting, or related roles, preferably within the retail industry.
  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful demand planning strategies in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
  • Computer literacy in Word, Excel and related planning systems
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with proficiency in forecasting methodologies and demand planning tools.
  • Excellent leadership and team management abilities, with experience in directly managing a team of demand planners.
  • Ability to thrive in an agile and dynamic work environment, with the flexibility to switch between strategic planning and hands-on execution.
  • Proficient in utilising demand planning software and systems
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex concepts to diverse stakeholders and is confident to influence and persuade at all level
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive mindset to identify and address potential issues
  • Excellent negotiation skills
  • Resilient and emotional maturity

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement demand planning strategies and processes to drive accurate forecasting and optimise inventory levels.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Sales, Marketing, Operations, and Supply Chain, to gather relevant data and insights to enhance demand forecasts.
  • Analyse historical sales data, market trends, and customer insights to develop accurate demand forecasts and identify potential risks and opportunities.
  • Monitor and report on important changes in sales forecasts, budgets, and business strategies.
  • Lead a team of demand planners, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure the achievement of key performance indicators and departmental goals.
  • Continuously monitor and evaluate demand planning performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with the procurement team to align purchasing plans with demand forecasts and ensure optimal inventory levels.
  • Drive demand planning process improvements, leveraging technology and tools to streamline operations and enhance forecasting accuracy.
  • Provide regular reports and updates to senior management, highlighting key insights, trends, and recommendations for improvement.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, market dynamics, and emerging technologies in demand planning and incorporate them into the company's strategies and processes.
