Warehouse Manager

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a warehouse management role or similar position.
  • Strong understanding of warehouse operations, logistics, and supply chain processes.
  • Ability to analyse data and implement process improvements.
  • Experience with warehouse management systems and inventory control software.
  • Strong IT skills with the ability to learn new programs quickly.
  • Excellent leadership, organisational, problem-solving, and numerical skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • No criminal record.
  • Non-smoker preferable.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in logistics or warehouse management.

Key Responsibilities:

Operations Management:

  • Oversee day-to-day warehouse activities including receiving, storing, inventory control, order fulfilment, and dispatching.
  • Develop and implement operational policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure efficiency and accuracy.
  • Monitor and maintain warehouse performance metrics, including key performance indicators (KPIs) such as order accuracy, turnaround time, and inventory levels.
  • Analyse data to identify trends and recommend improvements to operations.

Staff Management:

  • Train, supervise, and evaluate warehouse staff.
  • Manage and produce regular reports on staff performance.
  • Action disciplinary procedures against staff who breach company regulations.
  • Foster a positive and safe work environment, promoting teamwork and continuous improvement.

Inventory Control:

  • Ensure accurate inventory tracking through regular cycle counts and audits.
  • Co-ordinate with purchasing and production teams to manage stock levels and address discrepancies.
  • Manage processes to reduce stock loss and optimise inventory turnover.

Customer Liaison & Service:

  • Act as the main point of contact for customers regarding order fulfilment, delivery schedules, and stock availability.
  • Ensure timely and accurate communication with customers on order status, delays, and any issues affecting deliveries.
  • Address customer inquiries and complaints professionally, ensuring swift resolution of any issues related to warehouse operations.

Logistics and Coordination:

  • Collaborate with suppliers, carriers, and internal teams to ensure seamless inbound and outbound logistics.
  • Plan and co-ordinate transportation requirements to meet delivery deadlines.
  • Resolve any issues related to shipping, delivery, or logistics promptly.

Safety and Compliance:

  • Enforce health and safety standards in the warehouse, ensuring compliance with local regulations.
  • Ensure all equipment is maintained and operated safely, scheduling repairs or replacements as needed.
  • Ensure the warehouse is kept clean and the working environment is organised.
