Recovery & Tribunal Affairs Administrator The Recovery & Tribunal Affairs Administrator is responsible for the management of resident accounts, collection activities, and files related to tenancy matters, including representation before the Tribunal administratif du logement (TAL). This role requires a strong understanding of Québec residential tenancy legislation, including the Civil Code of Québec, as well as a minimum of two (2) years of practical experience managing matters before the TAL. The incumbent supports legal proceedings, handles complex account files, and collaborates with on-site teams and external partners to ensure compliance, accuracy, and the timely resolution of tenancy-related matters. Responsibilities
Review, analyze, and adjust current and former resident accounts, ledgers, utility charges, legal service fees, and collection-related documentation. Process a high volume of move-outs and prepare account statements. Communicate effectively with residents to address concerns, resolve account discrepancies, and establish payment arrangements when appropriate. Administer bankruptcy and consumer proposal (debt consolidation) files in accordance with applicable regulations. Act as a liaison between Boardwalk, collection agencies, and insolvency specialists. Prepare supporting evidence and legal documentation, including applications, hearing notices, affidavits, and related materials for submission to the Tribunal administratif du logement (TAL) and other competent Québec authorities. Coordinate the service of legal documents and ensure compliance with procedural requirements. Represent Boardwalk professionally at hearings involving tenancy matters before the Tribunal administratif du logement (TAL) and other competent Québec authorities. Provide guidance and support to project teams and Leaders regarding payment defaults, bad debt, and matters governed by the Civil Code of Québec.
Education & Experience Requirements
College diploma (DEC) in Administration, Legal Studies, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience (asset). Minimum of two (2) years of experience with Québec residential tenancy legislation, including the Civil Code of Québec and administrative processes before the Tribunal administratif du logement (TAL) (assessments may be required). Previous legal experience is considered an asset. Minimum of three (3) years of customer service experience, with a demonstrated focus on conflict resolution and negotiation (asset).
Technical Requirements
Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel. Valid driver's licence and access to a vehicle.
Language Requirements
French: Required, both written and spoken. English: Preferred, both written and spoken.
