The posting

A BOLDSCIENCE Senior Account Executive (SAE) will have prior experience working within the medical communications industry (or similar) and demonstrates strong organizational skills, project & financial management, communication, and quality control skills. This has given them a solid platform to hit the ground running in their new position at BOLD. An SAE is an organizational guru who can juggle multiple deadlines, prioritize their workload, and shift focus based on business needs. An SAE does not wait to be told. They are clear on the expectations of their role and know the key information they need to acquire to get the job done, and when needed, will stop and sense check with their account leads. They ask the right questions to ensure they have all the relevant background information to carry out their role independently. SAEs have a hunger to learn and are always looking to develop their knowledge and further fine-tune their project and financial management skills. Communication is second nature to an SAE, and their account leads trust them to provide regular updates, stop to ask questions, and sense check their approach where necessary. An SAE thrives as part of a team and builds strong, trusted relationships with everyone they work with. As well as providing support to their account team, they will start to help and mentor new Account Executives as they begin their BOLD journey.

DAY TO DAY RESPONSIBILITIES:

At BOLDSCIENCE, no two days are the same, and our SAEs play an active, hands-on role in providing day-to-day support to their client account teams. Through their proactive and persistent approach to driving actions forward, they quickly become an integral member of their account teams. Some of the day-to-day responsibilities include:

Client Management Skills:

  • Develops a good understanding of the account projects and the client needs, regularly asking questions to develop their knowledge on the client, account, and key therapy areas further
  • Builds awareness of external factors that may influence the day-to-day management of client projects
  • Starts to expand their role to more complex tasks involving higher levels of responsibility and ownership
  • Starts to contribute and speak on both internal and client calls to help build and develop their profile on accounts
  • Can clearly navigate internal BOLD processes and apply best practices to ensure all projects meet the highest of standards
  • Uses platforms or client-specific tools such as Datavision and/or Veeva as required. Tasks may include data entry and audit, preparation, upload, and tracking of materials and/or reporting
  • Clearly understands the roles of their internal account team and how their day-to-day responsibilities contribute to the wider team, and the need for account leads to be kept in the loop.

Project Management Skills:

  • Starts to take ownership of key tasks, including status reports, actions lists, and contact reports, ensuring all information is up to date
  • The account leads trust that an SAE can proactively drive elements forward independently but stop to sense check where necessary
  • Coordinates the scheduling and execution of internal/external meetings, preparing agendas and meeting minutes. Proactive and persistent in making sure follow-up actions are being driven forward
  • An SAE does not need to be told; they are clear on their responsibilities and can drive actions forward independently
  • Continues to develop project management skills, ensuring that the team has all relevant information before internal/external meetings, including status reports, invoice trackers, and purchase order tracking
  • An SAE has excellent communication skills and ensures that their account lead has an accurate snapshot of account activity, providing regular updates and flagging any foreseeable problems
  • Flexible and adaptable in approach. Happy to roll up their sleeves with all activities across their accounts, including assisting with onsite preparation such as onsite materials and assisting with booking travel and accommodation
  • Works with the wider BOLDSCIENCE team (Scientific, Creative, Editorial, Finance, etc.) to ensure timely review and delivery of client deliverables

Financial Management Skills:

  • Develops a good relationship with the Finance department and has a solid understanding of financial software & processes at BOLD, such as invoices, purchase orders, and setting up new job codes
  • Continues to build their financial knowledge across their account. Recognizes red flags to the account team and suggests a solution for resolution
  • Liaises effectively with external suppliers and sets up new purchase orders
  • Completes timesheets accurately and in a timely manner
  • Accurately tracks account invoices, flagging to the account lead what is coming up for the month ahead
  • Continues to develop their understanding of budget management and may be given responsibility for small-scale or first-draft budgets
  • Ensures information is tracked accurately and processes are followed correctly; starts to recognize when a project is going out of scope and brings this to the attention of the account lead

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience working within Medical Communications or similar industry
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in science, pharmacology, or medicine
  • Experience working in a busy, fast-paced environment with the ability to manage multiple deadlines while maintaining precision and excellence
  • Ability to work independently with strong organizational, communication, and relationship-building skills
  • Good attention to detail
  • Flexible and adaptable in approach
  • Strong computer proficiency and English grammar are also required

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
