The posting

Boliden is a high-tech metals company with its own mines and smelters that works long-term to guarantee society's access to base and precious metals. For a century, our work has been part of the value chains that have shaped modern society. At Boliden, we know that the metals we mine and make available will continue to play a crucial role in the future – what matters is how we produce them. Become a part of us and drive change for generations to come.

Your opportunity

Ready to shape how we source IT at Boliden? Join us as a Sourcing Manager and bring together technology, business and strategic sourcing. Your work will help us make smart commercial decisions while developing how we source IT across Boliden.

We are looking for two Sourcing Managers to strengthen our IT procurement team. You will work with sourcing across software, digital services and technology supporting our industrial operations. Along the way, you will build strong supplier relationships, manage commercial risks and help create long-term value for Boliden.

We welcome candidates at different stages of their careers. Your level of responsibility will reflect your experience, giving you the opportunity to grow while learning from colleagues with different areas of expertise.

Who you will work with

You will be part of Group Procurement and work closely with colleagues within IT, procurement and different parts of Boliden's business. You will also build relationships with IT suppliers, consultants and service providers.

Collaboration and knowledge sharing are important parts of the role. You will work with colleagues who bring different areas of expertise, while having the opportunity to take ownership of your sourcing assignments and contribute your own ideas.

The positions can be based in Stockholm or Boliden, with another Boliden location potentially considered by agreement. We work according to an Office First approach, with the office as the main workplace. Business travel is part of the role and varies according to business and project needs.

What you will do

Key responsibilities are:

  • Lead strategic sourcing IT initiatives from understanding the business need through supplier selection, contracting and implementation.
  • Manage and negotiate IT contracts and commercial terms across areas such as software, licensing, hardware, IT services, consulting and telecom.
  • Translate technical and business needs into clear commercial requirements and sourcing decisions.
  • Build trusted relationships with IT, procurement, business stakeholders and external suppliers.
  • Analyze spend and supplier markets to identify sourcing opportunities and support informed decisions.
  • Contribute to IT category strategies and the continued development of how Boliden procures IT products and services.
  • Contribute to responsible sourcing by balancing commercial value, sustainability, compliance and risk.

What you bring

You enjoy creating structure when several priorities need attention and are comfortable taking responsibility for moving an assignment forward while involving others when their expertise is needed.

You build trusted relationships by listening to different perspectives and communicating clearly. You are comfortable working between technical and commercial stakeholders and can turn complex information into practical sourcing decisions.

You approach challenges with curiosity and a solution-oriented mindset. You are also comfortable constructively questioning existing approaches and contributing ideas for improvement. We value colleagues who share knowledge, ask questions and contribute to an open and collaborative working environment.

Qualifications are:

  • An academic degree or relevant professional experience that provides an equivalent foundation.
  • Experience in strategic sourcing or procurement.
  • Understanding of IT contracts, commercial agreements and licensing models.
  • Ability to understand technical concepts and translate them into commercial requirements and decisions.
  • Professional proficiency in English.
  • Category B driving licence.

It is an advantage if you have:

Experience in IT procurement or sourcing is an advantage, particularly within areas such as software, IT services, consulting, hardware or telecom. You may also bring knowledge of data protection, GDPR or cybersecurity, or experience from an IT organization, supplier or international company. Swedish or Finnish is a plus.

We encourage you to apply even if you do not meet every qualification listed. We value potential, motivation, and a willingness to learn and grow together with us.

Why work with us

At Boliden, we believe in promoting a workplace where care, courage, and responsibility are central to everything we do. We offer a workplace where we believe in collaboration and where what you contribute will have a direct impact on future generations. We are a company made up of responsible and creative people all working towards the same vision; to become the most sustainable and respected metal supplier in the world.

Apply today to be part of something truly meaningful!

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
