The posting

At Bondora, our mission is simple: to make finance easy, transparent, and accessible for everyone.

Founded in 2008, we’ve helped more than 700,000 customers across Europe borrow and invest effortlessly through our trusted digital products.

As a rapidly growing financial technology company, we’re reaching new heights with a bold vision. We’re set to acquire a banking license, unlocking a world of possibilities for our customers. This transition will allow us to expand our lending across more EU countries and broaden our product suite to deliver even more value.

Join us on this journey and let’s build the future of finance together!

What is this role about?

If you're great at identity and compliance product work, you've probably already hit the ceiling of your current role: the architecture is built, ownership is split across a dozen narrow roles, and the job is tuning someone else's system inside a slow governance process, or applying AI automation on top of existing, antiquated operational practices.

As Senior Product Manager, Identity at Bondora, you'll own the whole stack and the platform that runs it, on a team you're building from the ground up. This isn't a maintenance function: Bondora operates across seven European markets and is pursuing a massive, multibillion-euro consumer credit opportunity. Every one of those markets runs on knowing who the customer is and whether we're clear to serve them, which makes this one of the most consequential systems in the company, not a back-office afterthought.

You'll build the policy and platform for KYC, AML, sanctions screening, and customer data privacy, and execute it alongside Legal, Risk, AML Operations, and Engineering, building one of the sharpest identity-and-compliance product functions in European fintech from the ground up. We build product-first and AI-first here: starting from what the problem actually requires, not automating whatever process already exists.

Your main responsibilities:

  • Define KYC, AML, and sanctions-screening policy together with Legal and Risk, so the rest of the business, Credit, Growth, Banking, can expand into new markets and products without re-litigating what's legally allowed every time.
  • Run AML and enhanced due diligence case management end to end with the AML operations team and Engineering: the workflows, the escalation paths, and an audit trail that actually holds up under regulator scrutiny.
  • Set data-privacy compliance for customer identity together with Legal, GDPR retention, data subject rights, the legal-basis register, the single source every team touching customer data relies on instead of re-deriving it themselves.
  • Direct product-first, AI-first automation together with Engineering: redesign how KYC and AML review should work rather than bolting automation onto today's manual process, replacing it with decisioning that's both automated and auditable, so the business scales without scaling headcount linearly.
  • Build the Identity & Customer Data Platform together with Engineering and the teams who depend on it, creating one source of truth about our customers.
  • You're joining early: the Identity team is being bootstrapped, which means real room to shape how it operates, who's on it, and how it works with the rest of Product, not inheriting someone else's structure.

What would ensure success in this role?

  • You've designed or owned KYC, AML, or sanctions policy at a regulated fintech, bank, or payments company.
  • You've directed or built automated compliance or case-management systems from a product-first mindset, redesigning how the problem should be solved rather than just automating an existing manual process or operating a vendor tool.
  • You've personally been through a regulatory audit or examination.
  • You're comfortable translating regulation, GDPR, AML directives, and CCD II directly into product requirements.
  • You've worked directly with Legal, Risk, or Compliance to resolve genuinely ambiguous regulatory questions.
  • As a bonus, you might have hands-on work directing LLM-based compliance automation, multi-market KYC experience, or a shipped identity/KYC change that measurably moved a conversion metric.

What can you expect at Bondora?

  • Experience with a banking license application or equivalent regulatory licensing process.
  • Hands-on experience directing LLM-based compliance automation.
  • Multi-market or cross-jurisdiction KYC experience
  • Contribute to Bondora’s ambitious goal of reaching 1BN in revenue. Your skills and efforts will directly impact our growth trajectory and shape the future of our company
  • Our employees deserve the best. We recognize our people with a competitive salary and a generous benefits package (5 weeks of vacation, private healthcare compensation, hobby grant, mental healthcare support, share options and much more!)
  • We provide an environment that encourages your personal and professional growth. As we constantly evolve and innovate, you’ll have endless opportunities (and budget) to expand your skills and skyrocket your career

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
