The EMC Engineer Intern will support electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) design, simulation, testing, and analysis activities for advanced automotive power electronics products. Working alongside experienced EMC engineers and cross-functional product development teams, the intern will gain hands-on experience applying EMC principles to real-world engineering challenges while contributing to the development and continuous improvement of EMC design methodologies, simulation capabilities, and engineering guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support EMC simulation and analysis activities to identify potential electromagnetic interference risks and evaluate design improvements for automotive power electronics products.
  • Assist with EMC design reviews and investigations, including analysis of grounding, shielding, filtering, PCB design, cabling, and common-mode/differential-mode noise mitigation techniques.
  • Support EMC laboratory testing and development activities, including test setup, measurements, data collection, troubleshooting, and correlation of simulation results with measured results.
  • Analyze EMC test and simulation data, document findings, and provide technical recommendations to engineering teams.
  • Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of EMC design guidelines, simulation methodologies, engineering tools, and best practices.
  • Collaborate with EMC, electrical, mechanical, systems, and other engineering teams to support EMC performance throughout the product development process.
  • Prepare technical documentation and communicate results through engineering reports and presentations.

What We Are Looking For

  • GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, or B average, upon initial hire date
  • Pursuing a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Electromagnetic Engineering, or a closely related technical field.
  • Coursework, research, or practical experience related to electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), electromagnetics, power electronics, circuit design, signal integrity, or electrical systems.
  • Familiarity with engineering simulation and analysis tools such as electromagnetic, circuit, or system-level simulation software is preferred.
  • Familiarity with laboratory instrumentation such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, or other electrical measurement equipment is preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an interest in EMC, automotive electronics, electrification, and power electronics.
  • Ability to analyze technical data, document results, and clearly communicate engineering findings.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a cross-functional engineering team.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
