The posting

Basic Function:

The Master Scheduler plays a part with the implementation the JDE MRPII systems for this facility. This position will be responsible for managing inventory and production plans. (S) He is responsible for short-term and long-term capacity analysis and assist in the preparation of forecasts.

Nature & Scope:

The incumbent must have knowledge and experience in the use of integrated planning systems. With this responsibility, the planning group together will become more involved in performing long-term and short-term capacity analysis, improving shop floor scheduling processes, and maintaining tighter control over inventories.

(S)He is responsible for generating master production schedules as well as monitoring and measuring schedule attainment. This individual will implement corrective actions to ensure schedules are met. This will require this individual to manage inventory and production plans to meet stated goals (turns, days of supply, etc.). This person will be responsible for performing inventory and variance analysis. The incumbent will be responsible for monitoring scrap reporting.

This person will assist in the implementation of a Pull Systems in the production area of all the plants. (S) He will help improve the shop floor scheduling processes as well as improving the inventory tracking systems.

This individual will be responsible for the coordination of Engineering, Production, and Management Staff to resolve capacity constraints. It is critical that the incumbent works with users at all levels of the organization to debug systems, determine information needs and uses, obtain feedback, and assess concerns in order to construct a plan.

This individual should have excellent communication skills, Quantitative analysis skills, and an ability to work with all levels of the organization. (S) He will be required to participant with cross-functional teams.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Ensures that production is not held up as a result of late deliveries.
  • Plans and schedules production to provide a high level of reliable, customer satisfaction
  • Recommends revisions to the company’s purchasing policies through the establishment and maintenance of sound Material Purchasing programs and procedures.
  • Prepares timely, accurate, and informative reports to provide the immediate supervisor with recommendations, when appropriate, covering all phases and activities of the Materials Department.
  • Provides the selection, supervision, and training of departmental employees to ensure that they all are working towards the same objectives.
  • Maintains the smallest inventories possible while providing an adequate level for production schedules and minimizing inventory investment.
  • Facilitates production planning using sales forecast.
  • Implements improved planning and scheduling techniques to increase productivity and efficiency.
  • Ensures timely program launches.
  • Improve inventory-tracking systems to ensure accuracy throughout the system.
  • Implement corrective actions to ensure schedules are met.
  • Performing long-term and short-term capacity analysis

Safety:

This individual promotes high standards of safety and health, which stress the importance of preventing accidents and illnesses. (S)He is responsible for Safety Committee activities and Hazard Communication Training to ensure individual employees meet their responsibility for safety. The incumbent ensures that issues identified by Safety Committee are accurately defined and resolved in a timely manner. Ensures employees, visitors, and contractors (including subcontractors), at BorgWarner Morse TEC, adhere to Global Star Safety Program, including safety rules, practices and training as outlined in the BorgWarner Safety Policy Manual.

Qualifications and Requirements:

Education/Experience

This position requires a bachelor’s degree (Business Management, Engineering or MIS) is preferred.

· Knowledge and experience in the use of integrated planning systems.

o 3 years experience with MRPII/ERP systems including CRP (JDE system preferred)

o APICS Certification is a plus

· 4-6 years of experience in manufacturing field

Salary Range: $80,800.00 to $121,200.00
