Your Future Role BPA is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Technologist to join our Edmonton team. In this role, you will contribute to the design and delivery of a wide variety of building projects, working closely with engineers, designers, and project teams throughout all phases of project development. Responsibilities
Prepare and develop mechanical building systems drawings using AutoCAD and Revit. Assist engineers and project managers with the design of HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and other building mechanical systems. Produce design documentation, drawings, specifications, and technical reports. Coordinate drawings and project requirements with multidisciplinary teams. Participate in site visits, surveys, field reviews, and construction support activities. Ensure designs comply with applicable codes, standards, and client requirements. Support project delivery from concept development through construction. Contribute to the implementation and continuous improvement of BIM and Revit workflows within the Edmonton office. Assist in the transition from AutoCAD-based design practices to Revit-based project delivery.
Qualifications
Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology or a related discipline. 5 to 10 years of experience in the consulting engineering industry, with a focus on building mechanical systems. Proven experience producing construction drawings and technical documentation for building projects. Strong proficiency with Revit. Solid understanding of HVAC, plumbing, and other building mechanical systems. Familiarity with applicable building codes, standards, and industry best practices. Experience coordinating with multidisciplinary project teams. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively. Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
