Job Description:
The Senior Facilities Engineer will support a growing Permian Midstream organization that includes oil and gas processing, saltwater disposal facilities, and pipeline operations. This position is responsible for providing daily engineering support to the operations team, including field troubleshooting, risk assessment facilitation, small-project management, support for larger development projects, and technical assurance. The successful candidate will help manage EPC contractors, provide leadership and direction to BPX and contractor teams, and support the safe handover of compliant, reliable midstream equipment and systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality engineering work across the Permian Midstream organization.
- Promote safe and efficient operations through rigorous engineering, detailed risk assessments, disciplined document control, and effective project management.
- Support Process Safety Management compliance through Management of Change execution, design reviews, procedure development, and participation in risk assessments.
- Provide daily support to the field operations team, including spending approximately 25% of time in the field supporting operational activities.
- Lead Root Cause Failure Analysis efforts to identify failure mechanisms, drive systematic improvements, and reduce repeat failures.
- Lead and participate in risk assessments associated with design changes, operational changes, and project execution.
- Manage project processes, tracking, reporting, contractor coordination, and assurance activities.
- Provide positive leadership while working effectively as a collaborative team member.
- Share knowledge with coworkers and support achievement of personal, team, and company business goals and objectives.
Essential Criteria and Qualifications
- 5 or more years’ experience in oil and gas or a related industry, including experience with large gas or oil processing facilities, saltwater disposal facilities, pipelines, chemical facilities, or refining facilities.
- Bachelor of Science degree in engineering; Mechanical or Chemical Engineering degree preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, manage, and champion cohesive teamwork.
- Strong project management skills, including scope development, schedule and cost tracking, contractor coordination, and execution assurance.
- Knowledge of engineering design standards, industry best practices, and operational assurance expectations.
- Ability to travel approximately 25% of the time.
- Experience with rotating equipment, including compressors and pumps, and pipeline systems is helpful.

How much do we pay (Base)? $150,000 - $190,000
