About the role
This is a permanent full-time position supporting the manufacture of components for the Australian sugar industry.
Working with a skilled team, you'll take the lead on machine setup, first-off verification, workshop planning, and mentoring apprentices and tradespeople while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality and productivity.
In this role you wil be:
- Setting and programming CNC machinery
- Verifying first-off production components
- Supporting production planning and workflow
- Leading by example on safety and quality
- Training and mentoring apprentices and team members
- Working closely with supervisors and workshop teams to improve productivity and efficiency
You will have:
- Trade qualification as a Fitter & Turner or similar mechanical trade
- Experience in a manufacturing or machining environment
- CNC machine setting and programming experience
- Strong commitment to safety and quality
- Ability to lead by example and support others in the workshop
- Forklift, dogging or other relevant tickets are advantageous but not essential
