Volunteer Gardener    Hitchin    Brainkind have a network of services across the UK that support people with acquired brain injury and other neurological conditions. In this role you will be helping with everyday practical tasks to keep centre gardens looking their best.   Activities may include:   •       Clearing overgrown areas or developing sensory sections in the garden •       Engaging in general garden maintenance tasks such as weeding, hedge cutting, raking, and deadheading •       Planting flowers, plants, or vegetables •       Sweeping paths and removing leaves to maintain a clean and tidy garden environment •       Help with planning and development of our outdoor spaces[TC1]   How often we would like your support:   Ideally, we hope you would volunteer every week or fortnight; however, all our roles are flexible, and times should be agreed with your local centre.   What we hope you will bring to the role:   •       A basic knowledge of plants •       The patience and ability to work in varying weather conditions •       Reliability and trustworthiness •       A friendly and supportive approach •       Enthusiasm and self-motivation •       The ability to work independently and as part of a team.   What you can expect from us:   We want to provide a volunteering environment that is inclusive, stimulating, friendly and supportive.
