ABOUT BRIDGE NEUROTECH

Bridge Neurotech is building a non-invasive functional ultrasound imaging (fUSI) platform with AI-based neural decoding for brain-computer interface applications. We are a seed-stage neurotechnology company developing technology that has the potential to transform how we interact with the human brain.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a PhD student in neuroscience or a related field to join Bridge for a six-month internship or co-op. You will work alongside our imaging scientists, software engineers, and research collaborators on the work at the center of our platform: turning raw functional ultrasound acquisitions into validated scientific insight.

This is a hands-on, interdisciplinary role. You will help design experiments, collect and organize data from our research study, build analysis pipelines, and analyze neuroimaging data with our collaborating neuroscientists and clinicians. It suits someone who is as comfortable at a study session as they are writing Python to process the data it produces.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

- Help design and run data collection for our research study, including on-site acquisition sessions with research participants.

- Work with our imaging scientists to validate ultrasound sequences and check data quality from acquisition through analysis.

- Build and maintain pipelines that organize, convert (for example to BIDS), clean, and version research datasets.

- Analyze neuroimaging data with our collaborating neuroscientists, including statistical analysis, signal processing, and visualization.

- Work with the ML team on neural decoders and encoders trained on this data, contributing to feature design and performance evaluation.

- Contribute to study protocols and research documentation as needed.

- Present your results to the team at the end of the six months, and leave behind analyses and tools the team keeps using.

WHO YOU ARE

Required

- Currently enrolled in a PhD program in neuroscience, biomedical engineering, electrical engineering, data science, or a closely related field.

- Available full time for six months.

- First principles thinking.

- Hands-on experience with neuroimaging data (fMRI, fUSI, EEG, or similar modalities), including processing and analysis.

- Strong Python skills with scientific computing libraries (NumPy, SciPy, pandas, matplotlib, or similar).

- Experience building reproducible analysis pipelines, ideally with standardized formats such as BIDS.

- Comfortable working across disciplines and communicating with clinicians, scientists, and engineers.

Nice to have

- Experience with ultrasound imaging, particularly functional ultrasound (fUSI).

- Experience with machine learning frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow) for biomedical signal analysis, neural decoding, or brain-computer interface applications.

- Experience working in or with clinical environments or human research studies.

- Proficiency with version control (Git), cloud computing, and containerized workflows.

WHAT WE OFFER

- A six-month project with real ownership, scoped with you around our research roadmap.

- Mentorship from our imaging scientists, and direct collaboration with leading clinicians and neuroscientists at top-tier academic institutions.

- Hands-on work with a neuroimaging modality early enough that much of the tooling does not exist yet.

- A culture that values intellectual honesty, scientific rigor, and moving fast with purpose.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
