At BrightBee, we're on a mission to solve the critical K-12 staffing crisis by connecting schools with the vital support staff they need to thrive. We call the independent contractors who work with us Bees, and each regional community of partner schools is a Hive. As a Bee, you choose which assignments match your schedule and skill set, and you can update your availability weekly. Assignments can range from a single day to several weeks.
We've partnered with Norristown Area School District to provide staffing coverage for a number of roles across the district. We have an immediate need for someone to work as a School Support Associate at their Paul V Fly campus. School Support Associates provide targeted instructional and tutoring support; implement lessons, outdoor activities, and active guidance focused on reinforcing socio-emotional development; and utilize developmentally appropriate behavior management and de-escalation strategies - all under the direction of certified educators.

- Work Monday-Friday
- School day shifts (7:30am-2:30pm)

What you will need:
- HS diploma
- Experience working with small to large groups of elementary aged children
- Comfort with paying for your background check and permit - as a 1099 independent contractor, you'll be eligible for bonus milestones to help cover these costs as you start taking assignments

PLEASE NOTE: Costs associated with the clearance process are the sole responsibility of the candidate, as this engagement is for an independent contractor role rather than a traditional employment position. Requirements vary by state, but may include the cost of a background check, obtaining a copy of any college transcript you have, and the cost of completing Mandated Reporter training. The average cost of completing clearance in Pennsylvania for this role is $255.
