Security Officer – York

Location: York Pay Rate: £12.71 per hour Shift Pattern: 4 On / 4 Off Rotation

We are currently recruiting for a professional and reliable Security Officer to join our team at a reception-based security site in York.

This is a varied role requiring a strong customer service approach, good communication skills and the ability to remain vigilant and professional at all times.

Shift Pattern

The position operates on a 4 on / 4 off rotational shift pattern, covering both days and nights:

  • Day Shifts: 05:30 – 17:30
  • Night Shifts: 17:30 – 05:30

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing a professional and welcoming reception security presence.
  • Monitoring CCTV systems and responding appropriately to incidents.
  • Carrying out regular security patrols of the premises.
  • Completing essential locking and unlocking duties.
  • Maintaining the security and safety of the building.
  • Monitoring access and ensuring only authorised persons enter the premises.
  • Reporting incidents, hazards and suspicious activity.
  • Completing accurate daily occurrence books and handover reports.
  • Delivering excellent customer service to staff, visitors and contractors.

What We Are Looking For

  • A professional, reliable and responsible approach.
  • Good communication and customer service skills.
  • Strong observation and attention to detail.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to work both day and night shifts.
  • Previous security experience is desirable.
  • A valid SIA Security Licence is essential.
