Job Summary

Operate and maintain crawler cranes on construction sites, ensuring safe and efficient material handling according to plans and safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct daily machine safety checks to ensure crawler cranes are operational and safe
  • Set up and operate crawler cranes to move materials according to site schedules
  • Monitor crane stability and load weights to maintain safe lifting operations
  • Collaborate with a banksman to coordinate safe crane movements on site
  • Perform minor repairs on machinery to minimize downtime
  • Report operational issues promptly to supervisors for timely resolution
  • Maintain accurate records of materials moved during crane operations
  • Ensure travel routes on site are clear to facilitate safe crane movement
  • Work effectively in noisy outdoor construction environments
  • Interpret general lifting plans to execute lifts safely and accurately
  • Adapt to night shift work as a first preference

Required competencies and certifications

  • Certification in crawler crane operation recognized by local regulatory authorities

Preferred competencies and qualifications

  • Previous experience operating crawler cranes
  • Ability to lift heavy loads and work safely at heights and under outdoor conditions
