The posting

Chemical Facility located in Theodore, AL is currently looking for a Material Handler who preferably has some experience working with CNC equipment.

GENERAL PURPOSE:

This position serves as the entry level for production technicians in the Performance Foams unit. Position learns and operates Foaming and Sheets machinery, and can perform composite materials operations including loading, unloading and movement of composite materials/finished product. Position is involved in inventory control and shipping preparation of finished product.

Follow all applicable EHSS and Quality procedures.

Setup and process composite foam materials through foaming and cutting operations.

  • Attach and adjust guides, stops, clamps, chucks, and feed mechanisms, using hand tools as required
  • Operate computer automated machines
  • Ensure conformance of finished product to specifications

Move materials throughout production area.

  • Operate fork truck, hand truck, etc. to move material and stock
  • Load/unload and move materials within the plant or other designated area
  • Count, weigh, and record materials moved/handled

Package and ship finished goods.

  • Use woodworking tools to make custom boxes, crates, skids, bracing fixtures, cradles, collars and chocks for use in shipping
  • Load materials into vehicles and install strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit

Maintain cleanliness of work area, machines, and equipment.

Activities would include: Experience Required

  • Operate heavy equipment including: forklifts
  • Work around rotating/ moving equipment while packaging product
  • Manually handles various materials including performance foams and equipment
  • Be able to respond quickly to identify and correct quality issues.
  • Preferred experience with CNC equipment
  • Preferred carpentry experience

Physical Requirements:

Carrying Up to 50 lb.

Additional responsibilities not listed may be required.

  • Must have a valid Driver's License
  • Must be able to pass a drug screening and physical
  • Must be able to pass a background check
  • Must be authorized to work in the US
  • Minimum high school education required

This is a SWING SHIFT position that requires working days and nights. (12 hr Shifts)

Starting Pay is $21.91

Activities would include: Experience Required

  • Operate heavy equipment including: forklifts.
  • Work around rotating/ moving equipment while packaging/ loading product.
  • Manually handles various materials.
  • Routinely climb ladders and stairs to perform various tasks.
  • Be able to respond quickly to identify and correct quality issues.
  • Preferred experience with CNC equipment
  • Preferred carpentry experience
