The posting

The Accounts Officer is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, performing bookkeeping activities, and supporting the overall accounting functions of the organization. This role ensures timely recording of financial transactions, preparation of reports, reconciliation of accounts, and compliance with company policies and accounting standards.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Record daily financial transactions accurately in the accounting system.
  • Maintain and update general ledger accounts.
  • Process and monitor accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
  • Prepare and post journal entries as required.
  • Ensure proper filing and safekeeping of financial documents and records.
  • Perform bank reconciliations and account reconciliations on a regular basis.
  • Assist in month-end and year-end closing activities.

Education & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Accountancy (BS Accountancy) graduate.

Work Experience:

  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience in an accounting, bookkeeping, or finance-related role.

Job-Specific Skills:

  • Strong understanding of bookkeeping principles and general accounting practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
  • Knowledge of financial reporting and reconciliation processes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with integrity.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
