Job Purpose:

BTIG seeks an Investment Banking Business Manager in our New York office. This individual will partner with senior bankers and key stakeholders (Finance, Legal/Compliance, Operations, Technology, HR, Risk) to drive the operational, financial, and strategic execution of the Investment Banking platform. This role focuses on improving business performance, enabling growth initiatives, ensuring robust controls, and delivering high-quality reporting and governance. Must be willing to work in NY office 5 days a week - no remote options.

BTIG offers a unique environment which combines a highly entrepreneurial platform focused on growth companies with the analytical rigor and transaction experience of “bulge bracket” investment banks.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Partner with Investment Banking leadership to define priorities, track execution against strategic initiatives, and drive accountability.
  • Develop business cases for new products, headcount, and investment initiatives; support implementation planning and change management.
  • Identify process gaps and lead initiatives to improve efficiency, scalability, and client/service delivery.
  • Own regular business performance reporting (revenue, pipeline, productivity, expense management, profitability) and deliver insights to leadership.
  • Coordinate budgeting, forecasting, and headcount planning processes; monitor run-rate and variance drivers.
  • Create KPI frameworks and dashboards to support decision-making.
  • Oversee deal pipeline tracking and data integrity in CRM and related systems; produce management reporting and ad hoc analytics.
  • Standardize reporting cadence, templates, and definitions across coverage/product teams.
  • Partner with Compliance, Legal, and Risk to support policies, supervisory controls, and regulatory readiness.
  • Support documentation, approvals, and committee materials for business-related governance forums.
  • Act as a central point of coordination across functions to resolve operational issues and deliver projects.
  • Support onboarding/offboarding, access entitlements, and workflow coordination with Operations/Technology.
  • Drive vendor management and tool optimization (CRM, data providers, reporting tools) in partnership with IT and Procurement.

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • 2-5 years in investment banking, banking COO/business management, strategy, finance, or consulting with IB exposure.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or similar advanced degree a plus.
  • Strong understanding of investment banking coverage/product workflows and key commercial drivers.
  • Strongly prefer candidates with prior front office IB Analyst / Associate experience (industry coverage and/or product)
  • Demonstrated experience managing cross-functional initiatives and delivering measurable outcomes.
  • Advanced analytical capabilities; ability to synthesize complex information into clear executive-level messaging.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and strong stakeholder management.
  • Financial planning & analysis (budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis)
  • KPI development, dashboarding, and performance management
  • Project/program management; process improvement mindset
  • Risk & controls awareness; strong attention to detail
  • High judgment, discretion, and professionalism
  • Experience supporting a high-growth platform or building scalable operating processes.
  • Familiarity with CRM/reporting tools, BI tools, and advanced Excel modeling.

Important Notes:

  • Must be authorized to work full time in the U.S., BTIG does not offer sponsorship for work visas of any type
  • No phone calls please, the applicant will be contacted within two weeks if successful

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
