The posting

Job Purpose:

BTIG seeks a Managing Director to lead and grow the Healthcare Equity Capital Markets (“ECM”) franchise within the Investment Banking platform. This senior role is responsible for originating and executing equity financing transactions across the healthcare sector, delivering strategic capital markets advice to corporate clients, and deepening relationships with institutional investors. The ideal candidate is a proven revenue producer with strong market judgment, executive-level presence, and the ability to lead teams in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Source, develop, and maintain senior-level relationships with healthcare corporates, sponsors, and key ecosystem participants to drive new business.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to C-suite executives and boards on equity financing strategy, market windows, investor positioning, and transaction structures.
  • Partner with sector and product leadership to build and execute annual business plans, revenue targets, and client coverage priorities.
  • Lead end-to-end execution of equity and equity-linked transactions including IPOs, follow-ons, confidentially marketed offerings, registered directs, PIPEs/private placements, at-the-market programs, and block trades (as applicable).
  • Oversee deal strategy, syndicate coordination, investor targeting, marketing approach, and pricing recommendations in partnership with Sales/Trading and Syndicate.
  • Ensure high-quality, accurate, and timely delivery of marketing and transaction materials (e.g., pitch decks, CIMs, investor presentations, management scripts).
  • Direct the development of sector and market content for corporate and institutional clients (market updates, relative value views, issuance trends, and positioning insights).
  • Use data-driven analytics to inform origination opportunities, client advice, and post-transaction follow-up.
  • Collaborate with Healthcare Investment Banking, Research, Sales & Trading, Corporate Access, and other product teams to maximize franchise impact and deliver a coordinated client experience.
  • Represent BTIG externally at conferences and industry events to strengthen brand visibility and client connectivity.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop junior bankers; set execution standards across modeling, materials, diligence support, and client communications.
  • Manage multiple live processes simultaneously while maintaining strong risk controls, compliance discipline, and attention to detail.

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Must be based in (or willing to relocate to) the New York City area.
  • 12+ years of relevant investment banking / ECM experience with significant healthcare transaction exposure; prior experience operating at senior coverage or ECM leadership level strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated track record of origination and execution across healthcare equity financings (IPO and follow-on experience required; private placements preferred).
  • Strong client management skills with the ability to advise and influence senior executives.
  • Deep understanding of equity capital markets dynamics, investor behavior, and issuance processes.
  • Excellent analytical capabilities and strong command of financial statements/valuation; ability to guide (not necessarily produce) detailed modeling and analysis.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills; strong presentation and storytelling ability.
  • Proven ability to lead teams, prioritize under pressure, and manage multiple concurrent transactions with precision.
  • High integrity and commitment to the highest ethical and compliance standards.
  • FINRA licenses

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
