The posting

Bud Cross Ford is seeking a dependable, hardworking, and detail-oriented Service Porter to support the daily operations of our service department and help maintain a clean, safe, and organized dealership. This position is responsible for moving and parking vehicles, assisting service department personnel, performing daily janitorial duties, and completing general dealership maintenance tasks as needed.

The ideal candidate takes pride in their work, maintains a positive attitude, follows instructions, and understands the importance of providing a clean and professional environment for our employees.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Service Department Support

  • Move, park, retrieve, and organize customer and dealership vehicles safely and efficiently.
  • Assist service advisors and technicians with vehicle movement and general service department needs.
  • Help maintain an orderly service drive, parking areas, and vehicle staging areas.
  • Ensure vehicles are handled with care and dealership procedures are followed.
  • Assist with other service department tasks as assigned.

Daily Janitorial and Facility Maintenance

  • Perform daily cleaning of designated dealership areas.
  • Sweep, mop, vacuum, empty trash, and maintain clean floors and service bays.
  • Clean and restock restrooms and other designated areas.
  • Keep entrances, walkways, parking areas, and other dealership spaces neat and presentable.
  • Monitor cleaning supplies and notify management when supplies need replenishing.
  • Identify and report maintenance issues, safety hazards, or areas requiring additional attention.

General Dealership Support

  • Assist with general upkeep and organization of dealership property.
  • Help maintain a clean, professional appearance throughout the facility.
  • Follow all safety procedures and dealership policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to safely operate customer and dealership vehicles.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently.
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to take initiative.
  • Ability to follow instructions and prioritize daily responsibilities.
  • Previous dealership, porter, janitorial, or general maintenance experience is preferred but not required.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform cleaning tasks throughout the workday.
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to lift and carry cleaning supplies, trash bags, and other routine materials as needed.
  • Ability to safely navigate dealership service areas and parking lots.

Work Expectations

The Service Porter is expected to maintain consistent attendance, complete assigned daily cleaning responsibilities, handle vehicles carefully, and contribute to a clean, safe, and professional dealership environment. This role requires flexibility, initiative, and a willingness to assist wherever needed to support the dealership's daily operations.

Additional duties may be assigned by management as business needs require.
