The posting

PURPOSE   Handles daily receipt of merchandise received from vendor trucks by performing the following duties.   ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES  

Examines shipment for defects and shortages against receiving documents. Records factors causing goods to be returned. Unloads and moves incoming shipments to storage. Forwards approved receiving documents to appropriate department for processing. Other duties as assigned.

  SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES   This job has no supervisory responsibilities.   MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.   High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.   COMPETENCIES

Attendance/Punctuality - Is consistently at work and on time. Dependability - Follows instructions, responds to management direction; Takes responsibility for own actions.

The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; extreme cold and extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
