Job Purpose
The role is responsible for leading the design, development, enhancement, and support of enterprise applications, while collaborating with business and technology stakeholders to deliver projects and operational initiatives. The post holder will ensure solutions are delivered on time, meet quality and security standards, and comply with agreed service levels.
Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and manage a small team of onshore/offshore engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment while ensuring timely delivery of projects.
- Actively participate in solution design, development, implementation, and operational support activities, providing regular updates on project progress and technical recommendations.
- Investigate and resolve application incidents, performance issues, and production problems to meet agreed service levels.
- Engage with business stakeholders, vendors, and technology teams to understand requirements, provide technical consultation, manage expectations, and ensure successful delivery of business objectives.
- Drive continuous improvement through automation, DevOps practices, and adoption of modern technologies to enhance system reliability, security, and operational efficiency.
- Evaluate, recommend, and implement AI-enabled solutions, automation initiatives, and AI-assisted development practices to improve business processes, software quality, team productivity, and operational effectiveness.
- Collaborate with platform engineers to provision secure and scalable cloud resources.
- Provide regular and effective progress updates to Application Managers and Project Managers, addressing delivery risks or issues proactively.
- Lead technical assessments and impact analysis for enhancement requests and projects.
- Design and support application integrations with internal and external systems through APIs, messaging platforms, and cloud services.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, architects, platform teams, and analysts to deliver technology solutions that support business objectives.
- Configure or apply changes on applications if necessary to meet the project requirements.
- Define and ensure the software quality standards.
- Ensure applications comply with security, privacy, and regulatory requirements.
- Assist to define the development framework under agile approach and work with all team members to follow the same methodology.
Requirements
- University degree in software engineering, information technology, computer science or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years of experience in application development, system implementation, and production support, including experience designing system integrations, APIs, or data solutions.
- Minimum 2 years of leadership experience managing small teams or projects.
- Strong stakeholder management, communication, and influencing skills, with the ability to engage effectively with business users, vendors, and technical teams.
- Experience with enterprise integration technologies, RESTful APIs, event-driven architecture, and cloud-based services.
- Hands-on experience provisioning and managing resources in Cloud environments (Azure / GCP)
- Hands-on experience or strong awareness of AI technologies, including Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), prompt engineering, and AI-driven software development practices.
- Programming experience in Java, SQL, Node.js, Vue.js, React, or equivalent modern application development frameworks. Experience implementing DevSecOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and infrastructure automation.
- Understanding of Azure networking concepts, including VNET peering, private endpoints, and network security groups (NSGs).
- Experience with real-time data processing and streaming technologies (e.g., Azure Event Hubs, Kafka) is a plus
- Knowledge of data governance, security best practices, and infrastructure-as-code (e.g., Terraform, ARM templates) for provisioning resources is a plus
- Proven ability to lead and mentor a team, with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in agile project management methodologies.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Excellent communication skills to translate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Good command in English and Chinese
