The posting

Chief Of Staff - CEO

The Opportunity:

BusPatrol is seeking a senior enterprise operator to serve as an extension of the CEO and help translate the company’s strategy into measurable priorities, operating rhythms, and delivered outcomes. This role combines strategic counsel, cross-functional execution, business performance management, executive communication, and hands-on transformation. The successful candidate will be comfortable moving from Board-level discussions to detailed operating issues, bringing structure to ambiguity, and driving important work through completion.

Responsibilities

Enterprise Performance and Execution

- Support the CEO in developing and executing business initiatives that support BusPatrol's strategy and mission; ensure timely execution as planned

- Be a constant enabler to ensure that the CEO's agenda and organizational priorities are continuously reinforced in the short, medium and long-term execution of the business

- Partner with the CEO and senior leadership team to drive progress and accountability against revenue growth, profitability, capital allocation, and operational goals

- Be a designated stand in that drives organizational priorities and decision velocity as required to help scale the CEO

- Establish cross-functional visibility into performance, risks, dependencies, and decisions through practical operating cadences and enterprise metrics and drive prioritized action to improve business performance

- Assist the CEO in capturing and assessing market trends, competitive intelligence, and technology developments that are key to sustaining BusPatrol's long-term right to win.

- Personally own and execute high-priority initiatives that cut across functions or do not fit neatly within the organizational chart; identify roadblocks, align owners, and drive work through completion

CEO Counsel and Decision Support

- Serve as a trusted and candid thought partner to the CEO, bringing sound judgment, discretion, and the willingness to surface difficult facts, challenge assumptions, and recommend a clear path forward

- Synthesize complex operating, financial, organizational, and market issues into clear choices, recommendations, and next steps

- Refine formal and informal communication cadences that keep the CEO informed, improve decision quality, and reinforce alignment across the leadership team

Transformation and Operating Model

- Help professionalize and scale BusPatrol’s operating model by improving company-wide processes and tools, decision rights and practices, resource allocation, cross-functional planning, and execution discipline

- Create practical frameworks, performance cadences, and shared KPI definitions that align the organization around a common set of facts and priorities

- Identify opportunities to improve operating efficiency, organizational effectiveness, and agility without creating unnecessary bureaucracy

- Help the organization move from reactive activity to disciplined prioritization against a clear set of high-value goals

- Build trust and accountability across functions while maintaining urgency, transparency, and a high standard of execution

Board, Executive, and Stakeholder Communications

- Structure, draft, coordinate, and finalize Board, senior leadership, business review, and other executive reporting materials

- Translate operating data and functional updates into clear, concise, decision-useful narratives and presentations

- Provide direct, actionable feedback that improves the quality and consistency of executive communication across the organization

- Deliver key messages to business leaders, employees, and external stakeholders on behalf of the CEO when appropriate

Targeted Leadership and Special Situations

- Lead strategic initiatives and special situations that require enterprise-level coordination, analytical rigor, and sustained follow-through

- Bring depth in at least one operationally relevant area and, when needed, provide interim leadership or hands-on support to a function, team, or business unit

- Develop a fundamental understanding of BusPatrol’s business model and value drivers, proactively anticipating issues and identifying opportunities to increase growth and profitability

Qualifications

- Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA) or a related field

- 5+ years of progressive experience across operations, strategy, consulting, transformation, finance, technology, commercial operations, or a comparable field.

- Hands-on experience leading operational transformation, organizational effectiveness, process improvement, or performance-management initiatives in a technology-enabled or operationally complex environment.

- Demonstrated ability to cut through noise, identify the true drivers of a problem, prioritize the highest-value actions, and convert analysis into execution.

- Structured problem-solving skills, with the ability to disaggregate complex issues and data, determine what is sufficient to move forward, and drive practical solutions.

- High ownership, initiative, and accountability; comfortable making decisions and creating structure in environments with limited established process.

- Expert-level financial, quantitative, and analytical capability, including the ability to build or interpret operating models, business cases, and performance dashboards.

- Clear, concise, and data-driven communication skills, with experience communicating effectively with Boards, executive teams, functional leaders, and frontline employees.

- Demonstrated depth in at least one operationally relevant area, such as commercial operations, sales effectiveness, field operations, technology or product, finance, talent, supply chain, or procurement.

- Sound judgment, discretion, and the ability to influence senior stakeholders without relying on formal authority.

- High energy, adaptability, urgency, and comfort operating in a fast-moving, growth-oriented environment.

- Willingness and ability to travel up to 40% or as required by business priorities.

- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree in business, finance, operations, or a related field preferred.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
