About this role in the team:

This net-new role is a critical regulatory addition to the Treasury Operations team in Malta, driven by BVNK's obligations under their EMI and CASP licenses to safeguard fiat and safekeep digital assets. While the core day-to-day is highly BAU-focused around reconciliation, the role offers high visibility through cross-functional project work, particularly surrounding the ongoing Mastercard integration. The successful hire will own these daily processes while actively working to optimize and automate them.

Key Areas of Responsibilities:

  • Run daily reconciliation reports twice a day for both Malta and the UK to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Match internal ledgers against external bank accounts for fiat funds (safeguarding) and digital assets (safekeeping).
  • Investigate, troubleshoot, and identify the root causes of any regulatory breaks or reporting discrepancies.
  • Automate and optimize existing in-house Google Sheets and Excel reports to improve efficiency and reduce file sizes.
  • Support high-priority cross-functional projects, including operational enablement for broader system integrations.

What we need from you:

Essential

  • A highly logical and analytical mindset with a strong approach to independently troubleshooting broken reports.
  • Proven experience in reconciliation, financial analysis, or business analysis (a strict treasury background is not mandatory).
  • Advanced proficiency and comfort living in spreadsheets and handling formulas (XLS and Google Sheets).
  • A solid understanding of the "flow of funds" and the business case behind financial transactions.

Desirable

  • Previous exposure to regulatory safeguarding or safekeeping processes.
  • Experience working within a company that holds an EMI license in Malta or the UK.
  • A background in the payments industry (e.g., Checkout, Paysend).
  • A general interest in digital assets, even without direct crypto industry experience.
