Regional Physical Security Operations Manager - China (HK) & NE Asia
Team Introduction The role will lead physical security operations, risk governance, crisis management and strategic security initiatives across North-east Asia, including Hong Kong, Japan and Korea. The position serves as the sub-regional lead responsible for driving operational excellence, strengthening regional resilience, and ensuring consistent implementation of corporate security standards across multiple offices.
The role partners closely with regional leadership, cross-functional stakeholders, external agencies, and global security teams to manage complex security operations, critical incidents, and vendor governance.
Responsibilities - Lead physical security strategy and operational governance across Hong Kong, Japan and Korea. - Act as the primary escalation point for significant security incidents, crisis management coordination, and regional emergency response. - Drive consistency and standardisation of security programs, policies and operating procedures across North-east Asia and Hong Kong sites. - Provide strategic oversight of guarding vendors, security budgets, KPIs, and operational performance across multiple countries. - Partner with business leaders, Workplace, Legal, HR and global security teams on risk mitigation and regional security priorities. - Lead complex regional projects including new office security design, event security planning, and business continuity initiatives. - Conduct regional risk assessments and provide strategic recommendations for geopolitical, operational, and workplace security risks. - Manage and develop country security personnel and vendors to ensure scalable and high-performing regional operations. - Support regional crisis management structures and participate in cross-functional incident command and emergency response leadership. - Support workplace investigations as needed. - Deputise for the APAC Regional Security Lead as required.
Minimum Qualifications - 5+ years of corporate security experience (contractor or full-time), including 2+ years in a security management role with progressive responsibilities. - Multi-site, multi-country security operations management, with a proven track record of high performance and cross-regional coordination. - New office security setup experience, including risk assessments, access control design, CCTV deployment, and other technical security controls. - Hands-on proficiency with physical security systems: access control, video management, life safety, and visitor management platforms. - Strong documentation capabilities: able to develop and maintain site-specific checklists, post orders, and standard operating procedures. - Incident and crisis response leadership: demonstrated ability to manage complex security incidents, emergencies, and business disruptions end-to-end. - Strong communication and stakeholder management skills; adaptable to fast-paced environments with flexible availability including travel on short notice, after-hours response, and weekend/holiday coverage as needed.
Preferred Qualifications - CPP, PSP, PCI, CSMP, CBCP, or equivalent credentials are preferred. - Background in law enforcement, military, intelligence, or corporate security is highly advantageous. - Experience in technology companies or multinational corporate environments. - Regional market experience: hands-on security operations management in at least two of the following: Hong Kong, Japan, Korea. - Guarding program management: experience leading or significantly contributing to guarding RFPs, with deep knowledge of security personnel hiring, training, development, and performance management. - People management experience with direct supervisory or team leadership responsibility. - Threat Management Program ownership: responsible for identifying, assessing, and managing dynamic threats to people and facilities. - Major event security support: experience conducting venue risk assessments and providing live event security operations. - Broad physical security program familiarity, including Travel Security, Global Security Operations Centres (GSOCs), Business Continuity, and Investigations. - Financial acumen and commercial awareness, including budget planning and management; undergraduate or Master's degree in a related field is a plus.
