By The Hand is a not-for-profit, religious organization. Individuals employed by By The Hand are working in ministerial roles and perform all or some of the following responsibilities: sharing the Gospel, teaching chapel, leading Bible studies, discipling students and modeling behavior that is consistent with Christ’s teaching.

Pay Rate: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour

Overview of Position

Reports to the Site Director and serves as the greeter for a Club site. This individual is an integral member of the site team they serve. The Front Door Coordinator works primarily during program hours, supervising the entrance to a By the Hand Club site and managing the flow of traffic in and out of the building. He/she is knowledgeable of the students, staff and volunteers of the site and maintains good relationships while ensuring safety policies are followed.

Spiritual Requirements

  • Has a personal and saving relationship with Jesus Christ, evidenced by a lifestyle that demonstrates the Word of God, and is in regular fellowship with other members in a Bible-believing church.
  • Agrees with the By The Hand Club Doctrinal Statement and adheres to the Employee Biblical Standards of Living.
  • Shows by example, the importance of Scripture memorization, Bible study, prayer, witnessing, and Christian fellowship.
  • Participates in weekly team prayer and devotion.
  • Has completed an evangelism course and is trained and prepared to share the gospel with anyone who inquires.
  • Works with leadership to monitor and enforce policies and procedures to further the By The Hand's religious purpose and religious freedom.

Role Responsibilities

  • Performs in a way that is consistent with the vision, mission, and culture of By The Hand and commits to excellence in every aspect of the overall operation.
  • Models the cultural values of By The Hand Club For Kids in day-to-day behavior.
  • Follows all policies as outlined in the operational guide, including maintaining brand standards and ensuring 100% adherence to the Child Protection Policy.
  • Participates in employee growth plans, including quarterly conversations and annual review meetings.
  • Manages all student pick-ups between the site team and parents and/or approved guardians.
  • Ensures 100 percent of adults in the building are approved volunteers or expected visitors.
  • Immediately informs Site Director and/or Assistant Site Director/SAES of any unapproved or unannounced visitors.
  • Reports safety issues to the appropriate authority immediately, and files a written record of any incidents involving police within 24 hours of the event.
  • Ensures lobby “welcome area” is set up and orderly before, during, and after By The Hand Club programming (sets up and tears down if needed).
  • Monitors students entering the site and signs in late arrivals.
  • Keeps and reports on the attendance of volunteers.
  • Upholds a secure environment by tactfully addressing everyone who enters the building.
  • Greets visitors, volunteers, and partners and ensures they know where they are going and what is expected upon arrival.
  • Know where to access basic first aid supplies, how to administer them, and when to report injuries to the Site Director.
  • Ensure an up-to-date understanding of all events relevant to one’s site.
  • Completes, implements, and reviews personal development plan with the supervisor.
  • Performs other duties as required and assigned.

Education and Experience

  • Associate's degree preferred.
  • Experience using Google Suite (Drive, Mail, Calendar, Docs, Sheets).
  • Must be fluent in Spanish (North Austin Site only).

  • Ensures 100% of adults in the building are approved volunteers or expected visitors.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopies, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Physical Demands

The employee is regularly required to speak, listen, walk and sit for extended periods of time. This role may require you to move equipment from room to room and lift up to 50 pounds. Individual must be able to comfortably move quickly up and down stairs.
