The Opportunity: We're excited to offer this Software Engineering Co-op opportunity to students currently enrolled at Drexel University! Based in King of Prussia, PA, this role provides the chance to work alongside a talented team of software developers who are passionate about mentoring and sharing their expertise. You'll gain hands-on experience working on meaningful projects, developing your technical skills, and contributing to real-world solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Working with a diverse team to develop software in an agile-like manner
  • Regularly meeting with mentors
  • Supporting software engineers by shadowing their daily tasks and performing duties under mentors’ supervision
  • Contributing to feature development through completion of small to medium sized issues
  • Assessing ideas and contributing to the development of new applications
  • Participating in code reviews and assisting in the development of software documentation
  • Testing software for functionality, usability, and reliability

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Currently enrolled in a degree program at Drexel University
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future
  • Ability to successfully complete a pre-employment drug screening
  • Proficiency with any one of the following languages: Java, Python, C++, etc.
  • Ability to effectively work within a software engineering team
  • Great communication skills
  • Eager to immerse in learning more about any of the following areas: Cloud-Native App Development, DevSecOps, UI/UX, AI/ML, and Algorithm Development

Desired:

  • Experience with Cloud infrastructures – AWS or C2S preferred
  • Experience building scalable, web-based applications
  • Experience building User Interfaces – React preferred
  • Experience with Containerization – Docker preferred
  • Experience with training and developing machine learning models
  • Experience developing performant algorithms in various domains

There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications.
