Job Title – Data & Business Intelligence Analyst

Location: Dubai, UAE

About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Data & Business Intelligence Analyst to transform complex datasets into actionable business insights that support strategic planning, operational efficiency, and informed decision-making. The role involves collecting, validating, analysing, and interpreting data from multiple sources, developing interactive dashboards, automating reports, and identifying trends and opportunities for improvement.

The ideal candidate will combine strong technical expertise in data analytics and business intelligence tools with the ability to understand business requirements, maintain data quality, and communicate insights effectively to stakeholders. Experience working with product information, master data, data governance, supply chain data, or industry standards will be an advantage.

Key Responsibilities

Data Analysis & Business Intelligence

  • Collect, consolidate, and analyse data from multiple internal and external sources to generate meaningful business insights.
  • Translate business requirements into analytical reports, dashboards, performance metrics, and actionable recommendations.
  • Identify patterns, trends, anomalies, and performance gaps to support strategic and operational decision-making.
  • Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs), scorecards, and management reporting frameworks.
  • Conduct root-cause analysis to investigate data discrepancies, performance variations, and emerging business issues.
  • Support forecasting, trend analysis, and data-driven planning initiatives.
  • Present analytical findings to stakeholders through clear visualizations and concise reports.

Dashboard Development & Reporting Automation

  • Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards using Power BI, Tableau, or similar business intelligence platforms.
  • Build data models, calculated measures, and visualizations to support business reporting requirements.
  • Automate recurring reports and data workflows to improve efficiency, consistency, and accuracy.
  • Develop and optimize SQL queries to extract, transform, and analyse data from databases and other structured sources.
  • Integrate data from different systems and establish consistent reporting structures.
  • Monitor dashboard performance and ensure reports remain accurate, relevant, and up to date.
  • Document reporting logic, data definitions, and dashboard specifications for future reference.

Data Quality & Governance

  • Validate datasets to ensure accuracy, completeness, consistency, and reliability.
  • Identify data gaps, duplication, inconsistencies, and quality issues, and coordinate corrective actions with relevant teams.
  • Establish data validation rules, quality checks, and monitoring mechanisms.
  • Support the development and implementation of data governance policies, procedures, and reporting standards.
  • Maintain data dictionaries, business definitions, metadata, and documentation of key data elements.
  • Ensure data is handled in accordance with internal policies, confidentiality requirements, and applicable data protection regulations.
  • Contribute to initiatives that improve data integrity and standardize information across business systems.

Business & Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Work closely with business, technology, operations, and management teams to understand analytical needs and reporting priorities.
  • Gather requirements from stakeholders and convert them into practical BI solutions.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to resolve data integration, database, and reporting issues.
  • Explain analytical findings to non-technical stakeholders and recommend practical business actions.
  • Support business reviews, presentations, performance assessments, and strategic planning exercises.
  • Provide analytical support for projects involving digital transformation, process improvement, and data-driven services.

Data Integration & Continuous Improvement

  • Assist in developing and maintaining data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline data collection, reporting workflows, and analytical processes.
  • Use Python or other analytical tools where appropriate to support data cleaning, automation, and advanced analysis.
  • Evaluate emerging analytics tools and techniques that could improve business intelligence capabilities.
  • Support the integration and analysis of product, customer, transaction, and operational datasets where relevant.
  • Recommend improvements to data architecture, reporting processes, and analytical methodologies.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • Typically 3–5 years of relevant experience in data analytics, business intelligence, reporting, or a similar analytical role.
  • Strong proficiency in Power BI or Tableau, including dashboard development and data visualization.
  • Good knowledge of SQL, relational databases, data extraction, and query optimization.
  • Experience with Excel, including advanced formulas, PivotTables, data analysis, and reporting.
  • Familiarity with data modelling, ETL processes, and data integration techniques.
  • Knowledge of Python or R for data analysis and automation is an advantage.
  • Understanding of data governance, data quality management, and master data concepts.
  • Experience with supply chain data, product information management, or data standardization initiatives is an advantage.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and presentation skills.
