Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced Electrical Engineer to handle electrical design verification, engineering calculations, and preparation of issue-ready drawings for compact, factory-built industrial infrastructure systems. The role involves working on on-site power generation, electrical distribution, protection systems, technical facility power supply, and energy metering, while supporting installation and commissioning activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Verify electrical load lists and energy balances against process designs, including all parasitic loads.
  • Prepare single-line diagrams, load lists, cable schedules, earthing designs, and lightning protection systems.
  • Specify transformers, switchgear, protection systems, cabling, and UPS equipment.
  • Perform short-circuit, voltage-drop, and protection discrimination studies.
  • Evaluate available power generation equipment and switchgear, including used units, and provide documented purchase or rejection recommendations.
  • Design revenue-grade energy metering at every energy boundary.
  • Design electrical systems for hazardous areas.
  • Support electrical installation, energisation, loop checks, commissioning, utility interfaces, and generation permissions.
  • Collaborate with mechanical and controls engineers to ensure effective integration of electrical systems.
  • Independently prepare engineering calculations and drawings to an issue-ready standard.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in electrical engineering for power generation or industrial plants.
  • Practical experience with low-voltage (LV) and medium-voltage (MV) electrical systems.
  • Experience with at least one installation that the candidate personally energised and commissioned.
  • Strong knowledge of single-line diagrams, cable sizing, electrical protection, short-circuit calculations, and earthing systems.
  • Experience specifying generators, transformers, and switchgear.
  • Understanding of energy metering and hazardous-area electrical requirements.
  • Strong commitment to electrical safety and the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary engineering teams.

Technical Skills and Tools:

  • AutoCAD Electrical or EPLAN.
  • ETAP, DIgSILENT PowerFactory, SKM, or Amtech.
  • Ability to perform reliable manual or Excel-based engineering calculations.

Key Deliverables:

  • Electrical single-line diagrams.
  • Electrical load lists and energy balance calculations.
  • Cable sizing calculations and cable schedules.
  • Earthing and lightning protection designs.
  • Transformer, switchgear, protection, cabling, and UPS specifications.
  • Short-circuit, voltage-drop, and protection studies.
  • Electrical layouts and hazardous-area drawings.
  • Energy metering drawings and documentation.

Working Model:

The engineering team performs its own calculations and prepares drawings in-house. Candidates must be capable of taking engineering requirements through to issue-ready deliverables and explaining the electrical engineering work they have personally completed.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
