Job Title: Mechanical Engineer

Location: Dubai, UAE

Employment Type: Full-time

Reporting To: Chief Systems Architect

Joining: Immediate

Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to handle mechanical design verification, engineering calculations, equipment specifications, and fabrication-ready drawings for compact, factory-built industrial infrastructure systems. The role involves verifying thermal and hydraulic performance, selecting appropriate equipment and materials, and supporting fabrication, installation, and commissioning activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Verify heat and mass balances, heat exchanger duties, approach temperatures, heat transfer areas, and design margins.
  • Size piping, pumps, valves, supports, and skids, and perform hydraulic and pressure-drop calculations.
  • Prepare general arrangement (GA) drawings, layouts, P&ID mark-ups, isometric drawings, and fabrication details for plants and technical halls.
  • Evaluate equipment, including used and ex-stock units, for condition, remaining service life, and fitness for purpose.
  • Select suitable materials for corrosive service and define civil interface loads, plinths, foundations, and containment requirements.
  • Support fabrication, erection, equipment alignment, pressure testing, and leak testing.
  • Incorporate verified as-built data into engineering drawings and documentation.
  • Work directly with fabricators to ensure engineering requirements are translated into buildable designs.
  • Independently prepare engineering calculations and drawings to an issue-ready standard.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in energy, industrial, or packaged-plant engineering.
  • Experience working on at least one project that has been physically built and commissioned.
  • Strong experience in thermal plants, heat exchangers, pumped circuits, and cooling systems.
  • Sound understanding of heat balance calculations, hydraulics, NPSH, and materials selection.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and a 3D design package.
  • Ability to independently prepare engineering drawings and work directly with fabricators under tight timelines.

Technical Skills and Tools:

  • AutoCAD.
  • Autodesk Inventor, SolidWorks, or Fusion.
  • Excel for engineering calculations.
  • HTRI, AFT Fathom, Pipe-Flo, or the ability to perform reliable first-principles sizing calculations.

Key Deliverables:

  • Engineering calculations and design verification reports.
  • General arrangement drawings and plant layouts.
  • P&ID mark-ups and piping isometrics.
  • Pipe supports, weld details, and fabrication drawings.
  • Bills of Materials (BOMs) and line lists.
  • Equipment sizing and material selection documentation.

Working Model: The engineering team performs its own calculations and prepares drawings in-house. Candidates must be capable of taking engineering requirements through to issue-ready deliverables and explaining work they have personally completed.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
