The posting

CALPAK is seeking an experienced Senior Product Engineer to lead the development of our internal tools and systems. Serving as both product manager and senior engineer, this role will partner with cross-functional teams to identify business needs, prioritize development, and build solutions that improve how teams work.

With an initial focus on our custom Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) platform, this role will also oversee broader internal systems, including product master data, integrations, data warehousing, and reporting. This is a hands-on role with end-to-end ownership, from development through implementation and user adoption, while managing a junior developer.

Requirements

Key Requirements:

Product & Engineering

  • Own product priorities and development for CALPAK's internal tools, balancing business needs, technical feasibility, and available resources.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to understand workflows, define requirements, and determine what gets built and when.
  • Lead hands-on development using Claude Code and modern engineering tools, while maintaining code quality and reliability.
  • Manage and mentor a junior developer, providing technical direction, code reviews, and oversight of deliverables.
  • Lead implementation, training, and adoption, ensuring tools are integrated into daily workflows and improved based on user feedback.

Systems & Data

  • Lead the ongoing development of our custom PLM platform, with an initial focus on product development workflows.
  • Oversee product master data across PLM, NetSuite, Shopify, and related systems, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and clear systems of record.
  • Manage data infrastructure, including system integrations, data warehousing, and business reporting.
  • Provide any additional support as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Strong full-stack engineering experience with TypeScript, Next.js, PostgreSQL, SQL, and API integrations.
  • Proven experience building and launching internal applications or operational software, with ownership beyond initial deployment.
  • Experience managing product priorities, navigating competing stakeholder needs, and translating business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Proficiency using Claude Code or comparable AI-assisted development tools, with the ability to review, troubleshoot, and maintain AI-generated code.
  • Experience with database architecture, data modeling, system integrations, and master data management.
  • Familiarity with data warehouses such as BigQuery or Snowflake and BI platforms such as Power BI, Looker, or similar.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and collaborate across technical and nontechnical teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with PLM, ERP, or other operational systems in apparel, accessories, or consumer goods.
  • Familiarity with finished goods product development and production workflows, including sampling, tech packs, lab dips, and purchase orders.
  • Experience with NetSuite, Shopify, or related data models and integrations.
  • Experience with internal application platforms such as Remy or Google Workspace administration.
  • Spanish or Mandarin language proficiency.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
