Job description

As Radar Modelling & Simulation Engineer, you will build and own the radar modelling capability that underpins a new radar product line. You will define, implement, and maintain a radar digital twin throughout the development lifecycle—using modelling and simulation to inform system design decisions, explore concepts of operations (CONOPS), and derisk critical aspects such as algorithms and processing architectures.

Responsibilities

  • Define the radar digital twin scope, fidelity, interfaces, and validation approach
  • Design, implement, and maintain end-to-end radar models (RF/propagation, signal chain, processing, detection/estimation) across the product development lifecycle
  • Use modelling & simulation to inform system design decisions and trade-offs (e.g., waveform, antenna, processing, compute architecture)
  • Explore CONOPS and wider system implications of radar function, including interactions with platform constraints and mission needs
  • Derisk key design areas—such as algorithms, processing architectures, and performance margins—through targeted simulation studies
  • Develop system-level performance assessments (e.g., coverage, detection metrics, tracking performance) and run sensitivity/what-if analyses
  • Define model verification/validation methods, correlate models to test/measurement data where available, and quantify uncertainty
  • Communicate results clearly to hardware, software, and systems stakeholders; document model assumptions, limitations, and evidence
  • Establish modelling best practices (versioning, reproducibility, test cases) to enable repeatable decision-making and long-term maintainability

Requirements (Necessary)

  • Degree in a STEM subject (typically Electronics, Physics, or similar), or equivalent practical experience
  • Strong grounding in radar theory and core performance drivers
  • Modelling & simulation experience, including defining models, assumptions, and validation approaches
  • Working awareness of radar usage and context (e.g., algorithms, RF physics, and CONOPS considerations)
  • Ability to translate ambiguous system questions into structured simulation studies and clear, actionable outputs

Preferred (Desirable)

  • Deep technical knowledge of radar theory (e.g., waveform design, detection/estimation, clutter, propagation, interference)
  • Experience undertaking and owning model-based projects end-to-end (requirements, implementation, V&V, stakeholder communication)
  • Experience applying digital twin approaches within a technology-development programme
  • Understanding of system-level performance assessment (e.g., coverage analysis, detection metrics, sensitivity analysis and uncertainty quantification)

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.

What if my background isn't good enough?

We make the most of the background you have. The CV uses every piece of relevant proof your profile holds, and one of the 25 readers reads your whole profile and flags what the CV left out.

Do you really apply for me?

Yes, on the employer's own form, the hardest ones included. Where a question needs you, you answer it right there and AI suggests the best answer. Don't want us applying from our IP addresses? Use our Chrome extension: we apply straight from your own browser.

Is it a subscription?
