Job Description

GBM Private – CSG – IRAF – Transportation Finance – Vice President, New York

Capital Solutions Group Goldman Sachs operates at the fulcrum of one of the most important structural trends in finance: the convergence of public and private markets. We combine the #1 global advisory franchise, a leading origination business, and an investing platform that deploys capital across liquid and alternative asset classes.

Our Capital Solutions Group is a comprehensive suite of our financing, origination, structuring, and risk management solutions. The depth and breadth of our relationships, enriched by the velocity of our deal flow, provide clients unique insights to maximize value and unlock opportunity.

Our integrated structure is built to provide comprehensive, tailored solutions that propel both our issuing and investing clients forward.

YOUR IMPACT

Our Global Transportation Finance Group is a market-leading team that provides financial solutions to the world’s leading transportation companies across the aviation, shipping, container, rail, and trucking subsectors. This team specializes in structured debt, structured equity, credit finance, and complex asset-backed securitizations (ABS).

OUR IMPACT

The Structured Finance Group within the Investment Banking Division in New York is looking for a VP to join the team.

The Structured Finance group works with clients to finance assets, businesses and risks within their overall business. Each structured finance desk offers specialized client coverage, product expertise, capital markets expertise, deal execution and dialogue with thought-leading investors.

Transportation team's product suite includes securitizations (across aircraft, engines, ships, railcars, container boxes, etc.), EETC financings for airlines, principal financing in the form of warehouses and term loans, asset sales, e-notes, M&A and related financings as well as USPP, corporate bonds and term loan B issuances.

Given the interaction with groups across the firm globally, Structured Finance provides exposure to a breadth of activities and deal types. These include securitizations, mergers and acquisitions, leveraged buyouts, asset sales and secured lending. As aircraft and shipping are dollar denominated businesses, this is a team with a global remit.

HOW YOU WILL FULFILL YOUR POTENTIAL

Role Responsibilities

  • Lead the origination, design, and structural engineering of complex securitizations and asset-based financing transactions. Client coverage responsibilities to originate and source opportunities and execute while overseeing junior team.
  • Structuring responsibilities include formulating customized capital structures that optimize leverage, amortization, and pricing for our global transportation clients.
  • Command the end-to-end execution of live transactions. This includes leading due diligence, driving credit approval processes, and directing the structuring and drafting of key offering materials, investor presentations, and asset stratifications.
  • Spearhead the negotiation of credit agreements, indentures, offering memorandums, and other transaction related legal documents in close coordination with internal and external legal counsel.
  • Own the rating agency process by managing cash flow model reviews, presenting structuring methodologies, and securing optimal credit ratings. Drive investor marketing strategies, including preparing and leading deal and non-deal roadshows.
  • 2+ years’ experience leading deal teams of analysts and associates.
  • Serve as a hub of expertise, coordinating seamlessly with IBD Classic coverage, Global Markets, Credit Risk, Legal, Compliance, and Operations to deliver the full capabilities.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
