The Housekeeping Supervisor at Candlewood Suites - Shelbyville plays a key role in maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and comfort of the hotel for all guests. This position involves leading and supporting the housekeeping team to ensure high standards of hygiene and customer satisfaction are consistently met. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage both the team and resources effectively to deliver exceptional guest experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the housekeeping staff, ensuring efficient coverage and adherence to hotel standards.
  • Inspect guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces for cleanliness and maintenance issues.
  • Train new employees and provide ongoing coaching and performance feedback to team members.
  • Manage inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, placing orders as needed to maintain stock levels.
  • Report maintenance issues and work closely with other departments to ensure timely repair and upkeep.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and sanitation policies and procedures.
  • Handle guest requests and resolve complaints related to housekeeping promptly and professionally.
  • Prepare and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly reports on housekeeping operations.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in housekeeping, preferably in a supervisory role within the hospitality industry.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
  • Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies, and safe handling procedures.
  • Basic computer skills for reporting and scheduling.
