The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on knowledge of BigID, relational databases/DBMS, SQL, Advanced Excel, and data analytics, along with the ability to analyze large datasets, identify anomalies and trends, perform reconciliations, and translate findings into actionable remediation activities.

Key Responsibilities

BigID & Data Discovery

  • Work with BigID to support data discovery, classification, inventory, and analysis across structured and unstructured data sources.
  • Review BigID scan results and analyze identified sensitive, personal, confidential, and critical data.
  • Support onboarding and validation of data sources within BigID.
  • Analyze BigID findings to identify data requiring further investigation or remediation.
  • Work with application owners and data owners to validate findings and resolve exceptions.
  • Track identified issues through remediation, validation, and closure.
  • Support preparation of evidence and reporting for governance, risk, privacy, and audit requirements.

Database & SQL Analysis

  • Demonstrate strong understanding of DBMS concepts, relational databases, tables, keys, relationships, and data structures.
  • Write SQL queries to extract, analyze, reconcile, and validate data.
  • Perform data profiling and identify missing, duplicate, inconsistent, invalid, or anomalous records.
  • Perform source-to-target and cross-system data reconciliation.
  • Use joins, aggregations, subqueries, CTEs, CASE statements, and other SQL techniques for data investigation.
  • Validate data before and after remediation to confirm successful closure of identified issues.

Data Remediation

  • Analyze data issues identified through BigID scans, business controls, or data-quality assessments.
  • Perform root-cause analysis and help determine appropriate remediation actions.
  • Define impacted populations and remediation rules in collaboration with business and technology stakeholders.
  • Perform pre- and post-remediation validation and reconciliation.
  • Maintain appropriate documentation, evidence, exception logs, and audit trails.
  • Track remediation actions, dependencies, risks, and outstanding issues to closure.

Excel & Data Analytics

  • Use Advanced Excel for large-scale data analysis, reconciliation, validation, and reporting.
  • Strong working knowledge of Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, INDEX-MATCH, conditional formatting, logical functions, data cleansing, and reconciliation techniques.
  • Analyze large datasets to identify trends, patterns, exceptions, and data-quality issues.
  • Create management information (MI), dashboards, and remediation progress reports.
  • Translate complex datasets into clear insights for business and senior stakeholders.

Stakeholder & Project Management

  • Collaborate with data owners, application owners, technology teams, privacy teams, risk teams, and business stakeholders.
  • Facilitate discussions to understand data issues and agree on remediation actions.
  • Track actions, risks, issues, dependencies, and milestones.
  • Provide regular progress updates and management reporting.
  • Support junior team members and provide guidance on data analysis and remediation activities.
  • Ensure deliverables are completed with appropriate quality controls and within agreed timelines.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 7–10 years of overall experience in data management, data analytics, data remediation, data privacy, data governance, or related areas.
  • Hands-on experience or strong working knowledge of BigID.
  • Strong understanding of DBMS and relational database concepts.
  • Strong hands-on SQL skills for querying, reconciliation, profiling, and data-quality analysis.
  • Strong proficiency in Advanced Excel.
  • Strong data analytics and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Experience working with large and complex datasets.
  • Experience in identifying and investigating data-quality issues and performing root-cause analysis.
  • Understanding of data discovery, data classification, data lineage, sensitive data, and data remediation concepts.
  • Ability to translate technical findings into clear business language.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Ability to independently manage assigned workstreams and drive issues through to closure.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience working on BigID implementation, data discovery, privacy, or remediation programs.
  • Experience within Banking, Financial Services and Insurance (BFSI) or other highly regulated industries.
  • Understanding of data privacy and protection principles and regulatory requirements.
  • Knowledge of data governance, metadata management, data lineage, and data-quality frameworks.
  • Experience creating dashboards and management reporting using Excel, Power BI, or similar analytics tools.
  • Exposure to Agile/project delivery environments would be beneficial.

Key Competencies

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
