POSITION SUMMARY:

The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for performing general preventative maintenance, repairs on facility equipment and property structures. In addition, this position is also responsible for performing all building-related PM’s, grounds maintenance and work related to equipment preventative maintenance. This position requires a high standard of quality in meeting our customer expectations.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  1. Perform preventative maintenance for all Carfair buildings, equipment, and maintenance shop equipment.
  2. Perform booth cleaning, equipment cleaning, dust cleaning, and or any additional cleaning.
  3. Maintains the work order log and updates the Maintenance Management System.
  4. Ability to organize and prioritize workload.
  5. Cleans, lubricates, and performs other routine maintenance on equipment, machinery, and hand/power tools.
  6. Monitors the use of and inventories of maintenance supplies and equipment.
  7. Operate hand tools, power tools for equipment/machinery assembly and repairs.
  8. Operate hoisting and lifting devices such as cranes, jacks, and forklift to position machinery and parts during the installation, set-up, and repair of machinery.
  9. Operate forklift, scissor lift, boom lift, and bobcat as required to perform the duties safely and in timely manner.
  10. Read manuals, blueprints, diagrams, and schematic drawings to determine work procedures.
  11. Makes recommendations for improving plant operations and efficiency.
  12. Communicates directly with supervisors and operations departments to coordinate maintenance work
  13. Keep the work area and equipment clean and organized as required by the 5S standards.
  14. General plumbing maintenance and repairs.
  15. Routine checks and preventative maintenance on Air-Makeup and Exhaust equipment (if required)
  16. Perform general maintenance and maintain maintenance records on all equipment and vehicles (if required)
  17. Follow health and safety policies and procedures.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:

  1. High school diploma or GED.
  2. 1 to 2 years of experience in a Manufacturing environment.
  3. Industrial Mechanic Certification will be considered an asset.
  4. Maintenance experience will be considered an asset
  5. Should have good people skills.
  6. Should have good oral and written communication skills.
  7. Ability to multitask
  8. Experienced with Microsoft office suit
  9. Must have elementary mechanical aptitude.
  10. Knowledge on how to interpret blueprints.
