The posting

At Caris, we understand that cancer is an ugly word—a word no one wants to hear, but one that connects us all. That’s why we’re not just transforming cancer care—we’re changing lives.

We introduced precision medicine to the world and built an industry around the idea that every patient deserves answers as unique as their DNA. Backed by cutting-edge molecular science and AI, we ask ourselves every day: “What would I do if this patient were my mom?” That question drives everything we do.

But our mission doesn’t stop with cancer. We're pushing the frontiers of medicine and leading a revolution in healthcare—driven by innovation, compassion, and purpose.

Join us in our mission to improve the human condition across multiple diseases. If you're passionate about meaningful work and want to be part of something bigger than yourself, Caris is where your impact begins.

Position Summary

  • Generate actionable intelligence on the scientific, clinical, and competitive landscape for next-generation sequencing (NGS) and other molecular diagnostic tests used in oncology.
  • Apply scientific and clinical oncology expertise or in-depth oncology diagnostics market analysis experience to interpret evidence, assess product differentiation, and inform decisions across Commercial, Marketing, Medical Affairs, and R&D.

Job Responsibilities

Scientific and Clinical Analysis

  • Critically evaluate publications, clinical trials, validation studies, and congress presentations to assess assay performance, clinical validity, clinical utility, and relevance to patient care.
  • Analyze developments in comprehensive genomic profiling, tissue and liquid biopsy, companion diagnostics, molecular residual disease testing, and emerging early detection approaches.
  • Compare study designs, patient populations, endpoints, and methodological limitations to determine the strength of evidence supporting diagnostic claims.
  • Monitor oncology testing guidelines and clinical practice developments that may affect test adoption, evidence requirements, or product positioning.

Market and Competitive Landscape Analysis

  • Track competitor test launches, product enhancements, regulatory activity, partnerships, pricing, reimbursement, and commercial developments.
  • Develop competitor and product profiles that compare test capabilities, clinical applications, supporting evidence, sample requirements, turnaround times, and workflow considerations.
  • Conduct focused market assessments and primary and secondary research to identify competitive threats, unmet needs, and opportunities for differentiation.
  • Produce monthly intelligence updates, quarterly landscape reviews, dashboards, and targeted analyses that explain the implications of scientific and market developments.

Strategic Insights and Collaboration

  • Partner with Medical Affairs, R&D, Commercial, and Marketing to assess emerging evidence and support positioning, evidence generation, and launch planning.
  • Collaborate with Market Access and Business Development on payer coverage trends, reimbursement developments, partnership evaluations, and opportunity assessments.
  • Support intelligence planning, coverage, and debriefs for major oncology and molecular diagnostics congresses, including ASCO, ESMO, and AMP.

Tools and Processes

  • Use scientific databases, regulatory resources, market research, analyst reports, and expert interviews to build well-supported intelligence deliverables.
  • Apply AI tools to improve research and synthesis while verifying source accuracy and protecting confidential information.
  • Maintain a searchable intelligence repository with clear sourcing, consistent updates, and accessible reporting formats.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in life sciences, molecular biology, genetics, or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience demonstrating depth through either of the following pathways:
  • Scientific or clinical experience in oncology and oncology diagnostics, including molecular pathology, tumor genomics, translational research, clinical research, or medical affairs, with demonstrated ability to assess diagnostic evidence and its strategic implications.
  • Substantial experience focused on oncology diagnostics market analysis, competitive intelligence, equity research, consulting, or a related analyst role, with demonstrated ability to interpret scientific and clinical evidence.
  • Strong understanding of cancer biology, molecular diagnostic technologies, and the role of testing in treatment selection and disease monitoring.
  • Ability to critically assess clinical and technical evidence and distinguish established findings from preliminary results and promotional claims.
  • Experience integrating publications, clinical trial data, company disclosures, market research, and expert input into clear, defensible conclusions.
  • Strong analytical, writing, and presentation skills, including the ability to communicate with scientific and commercial audiences.
  • Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint, scientific literature searching, and relevant research or data visualization tools.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize deadlines, and work independently with high integrity and appropriate handling of confidential information.

Preferred Qualifications

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
