At Carma, we’re more than just a car company, we’re on a mission to shake up the Australian automotive industry! As a digital pre-owned car dealership, we’re turning the car buying experience into a hassle-free, seamless journey that customers can truly enjoy. With our diverse and collaborative team managing everything from engineering to marketing and buying to reconditioning in-house, we’re powered by the best people and we’d love for you to come along for the ride.
As a Cosmetic Repair Lead, you set the benchmark for craftsmanship across our entire cosmetic scope—from wheels and touch-ups to texture coat, upholstery, tint, headlights, interior polish, and glass. You define what "good" looks like and coach the team to hit that standard every single time."
What you’ll be doing:
- Own Cosmetic Quality & Governance: Set, maintain, and uphold Carma standardised work across all cosmetic disciplines, ensuring every vehicle strictly meets our finish standard before it is released.
- Build & Sign Off Capability: Drive the training pathway for every technician across each discipline, assessing and signing off competency before they work unsupervised—and making the call to decline sign-off if standards aren't met.
- Audit, Coach & Escalate: Routinely audit repairs against benchmarks, deliver feedback to eliminate rework, and keep the Senior Lead informed on quality metrics and training milestones.
- Tackle the Toughest Repairs: Lead from the front on the tools when required, stepping in across any discipline to execute the most complex, high-difficulty cosmetic jobs.
- Drive Workshop Productivity: Confirm job scope prior to kickoff, accurately log time against each vehicle, and leverage advanced techniques to hit set turnaround times without compromising finish.
- Embed a Safety-First Standard: Champion uncompromising WHS, PPE, and hazard reporting standards, actively supporting the broader production line and running a pristine, highly organized workspace.
- Protect the Customer Experience: Treat every Carma car with absolute care and respect, ensuring flawless, zero-compromise.
Success in this role is defined by a cosmetic function that consistently sets the benchmark for quality, upskills the team with confidence, and delivers showroom-standard finishes without compromise
Okay, let’s talk about you:
- Extensive, hands-on cosmetic repair experience across multiple disciplines—such as wheel repairs, spray or touch-up, upholstery, tint, or glass—in a high-volume workshop environment.
