  • Lead the design, evaluation, implementation, integration, and lifecycle management of fleetwide OT cyber defense technologies and engineering controls.
  • Establish secure OT architecture and network segmentation standards that protect critical vessel systems while supporting safety, availability, maintainability, and business operations.
  • Direct engineering delivery across operating lines, Maritime functions, IT, project teams, shipboard stakeholders, and vendors, ensuring solutions meet approved technical, cybersecurity, and operational-readiness requirements.
  • Establish an engineering service-delivery model, technical governance, design-review practices, implementation standards, and performance measures for global Maritime Cyber Safety Engineering.
  • Maintain fleetwide technical visibility of OT assets, connectivity, vulnerabilities, control coverage, and risk-based remediation priorities in partnership with Cyber Safety Operations and Compliance.
  • Serve as a senior technical escalation point for OT cyber incidents and high-risk vulnerabilities; support investigation, containment, recovery, root-cause analysis, and corrective-action planning.
  • Develop and maintain engineering standards, reference architectures, design documents, as-built records, configuration baselines, test plans, and procedures within approved document-management and safety-management systems.
  • Lead, coach, and develop Maritime Cyber Safety managers, engineers & analysts; establish clear accountability, technical development plans, succession readiness, and a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Manage engineering budgets, forecasts, contracts, licenses, equipment, and vendor performance in accordance with departmental financial controls and sourcing requirements.
  • Evaluate emerging threats, technologies, and maritime cybersecurity requirements; translate relevant changes into practical engineering requirements and prioritized improvements.
  • Develop and deliver technical training and knowledge-transfer programs for shoreside and shipboard stakeholders responsible for operating and supporting cyber safety controls.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong knowledge of operational technology (OT), industrial control systems (ICS), supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA), distributed control systems (DCS), and industrial networking principles.
  • Demonstrated expertise in secure network and system architecture, segmentation, remote access, identity and access controls, vulnerability management, security monitoring, configuration management, and resilient engineering.
  • Understanding of maritime operations and shipboard systems, including bridge, navigation, communications, propulsion, machinery management, power management, safety, access control, and cargo-related environments.
  • Ability to translate cyber risks, regulatory obligations, and business requirements into practical engineering standards, technical designs, and implementation roadmaps.
  • Strong leadership, people-management, coaching, vendor-management, budgeting, and resource-planning capabilities.
  • Proven ability to lead complex, fleetwide technology initiatives in a matrixed, multinational environment and coordinate across operating lines, technical teams, shipboard stakeholders, and third parties.
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, decision-making, and risk-prioritization skills, with sound judgment in safety- and availability-critical environments.
  • Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and stakeholder-management skills, including the ability to communicate technical risk and investment needs to executive and operational audiences.
  • Strong technical documentation skills, including reference architectures, network diagrams, design specifications, implementation plans, test plans, configuration baselines, and as-built documentation.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks, maritime cyber guidance, classification requirements, flag and port-state expectations, and applicable laws and regulations.
  • Ability to support cyber incidents and critical operational needs outside normal business hours and to travel aboard vessels when required.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, accountability, and commitment to a speak-up culture and continuous improvement.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
